All this putting people on ignore BEFORE the season begins. How are you all going to go on winding each other up come the new season. You should all take a long hard look at yourselves its a mockery of a sham :mad:

I don't quite think the 'wind-ups' would be up to much given the performances in this thread.

I think DM had the long and short of it in that this all rests on whether you consider this fracas multiple incidents/fights or just the one.

Apparantly Gerrard was fairly drunk, the meadwench told him he could choose the tunes, the guy told him he couldn't, and stood up when the Scouse captain stressed the point, and Gerrard and his entourage suddenly felt threatened so Stevie gave him a right hook; felt 'gutted' after what happened too... ahh, bliss.

More importantly he was elsewhere in the bar when he refused Gerrard the card, Gerrard stormed around the place for 5 minutes before gathering his friends and going to confront the guy again who was sitting down and no threat whatsoever. Now backed into a corner with no escape he stood up like everyone in his position would. It was only then, 5 mins + later that they beat him up, this was no instant reaction. He went off angry and came back with a group of friends.

If the guy mouthed off a bit and they got into fisticuffs on his own which came to nothing thats one thing. But the guy told him where to go, he got angry left and took his friends back to confront him again, totally different situation as the act of coming back WITH 5 people is aggresive all by itself.

Why Baz is pretending the video shows nothing or that Gerrard did nothing, when Gerrard and his lawyers aren't disputing those facts, just Gerrard is putting a spin over feeling threatened and so beating this guy up is self defence.

If all the witness's say Gerrard attacked him, and Gerrard says he hit him, why is Baz claiming otherwise?
 
Having just seen the footage for the first time I can't honestly see how anyone can come to any clear conclusion about what happened just by watching that?

I know you guys all like to speculate but eye witness evidence is obviously going to be the most important deciding factor in this case because it wouldn't be possible to convict from that cctv footage alone.

edit: one thing I will say having watched it a couple more times is that it is obvious Gerrard is angry about something and has to be restrained and taken out of the bar by his friends, but as far as I can see the actual incident itself is very hard to see.
