Hi guys,

I'm off on a lads holiday to Vegas on Sunday, and I'm looking for recommendations as to which spots (bars, clubs) to hit at night. There's quite a lot of info on the net but I'm looking for recommendations from people who've actually been there. I've heard good things about the clubs in the Wynn hotel. Not that it's of any relevance but we'll be staying at Planet Hollywood.

I found the Tangerine Club fantastic. It is attached to the Treasure Island hotel.

Don't forget the daylife though, look at what they let me have a play with at the Gun Store Las Vegas .... a MUST visit if you are in town.

Oh my God yes, I'm so there! :)

The daylife will be getting hammered too, it's just that 7 days isn't enough time to visit everywhere the night has to offer, so I'm looking for inspiration!
 
Also, if you are into UFOs etc, You might find a trip to the Little A'Le Inn interesting. It is about 2-3 hours drive from Las Vegas.

many lounges in the casinos though not many bars as such

the clubbing scene is good or dire depending on what you are looking for

pretentious wanabees posing and being jerks IMO but each to their own

lets make one thing clear though of group of English lads are not going to get in anywhere decent without booking table/bottle service

this is not an exageration, this is what you need to do

contact a host and book bottle service

you will then be allowed in ( after you tip doorman $50 who takes you to table )

select bottles ( spirits ) , min one per 3 folks, average around $400 per bottle ( + tax )

you will get mixers included but redbull will be extra

the waitress that serves the drinks will expect tipping around 20% of bill

you will also be expected to tip the bouncer who looks after your area

reckon on $200 per person upwards

now this does sound bad but consider this

cover $30 ( you wont get in without back handing doorman on top of this )

if you say 8 drinks each from bottle at $12 ish each ( 15 with tip ) so 120 there

and you wont have anywhere to sit so maybe not such a bad deal

I have a friend who is a VIP manager at the Wynn nightclubs. He worked in Tryst and now they're opening a new one which he works at. So go there. :D

Is that for vip lounges?

When I went to Vegas with a few mates we just drank the freebies whilst on the slots,etc then moved onto a few bars. Ended up at Spearmint Rhino till about 7am, that was class and the girls there loved chatting to us Brits without touting for business :D

depends what you mean by VIP lounges, it would get you what they call VIP access but that is basically any seats in a club

So that is just to sit at a table in any club? what about just going in and standing?

When you say group how many are we talking?

We (3 of us) had no problems anywhere but we never tried a proper night club, I didn't realise it was like that
 
When I was there I went to Studio54 in the MGM, only because we were staying in the hotel and so got free passes. Otherwise I think it was $20 for women and $40 for men or something like that. Drinks were expensive too but that's to be expected I guess.

I'm not really a clubber myself so can't compare it to anything but it was nice enough. Some friends wanted to go to LAX in the Luxor one night but we spent many hours drinking in a bar and it was too late to get in when they tried (about 4am).

Hope you have a good time, I was doing lots of sightseeing in the daytime so didn't go out much. Definitely something I'll be doing more of next time I go.

Without table service expect massive queue, and they do not go down quickly, especially at the weekends.

Most of the time you are better sticking to the bars, rather than the clubs anyway. It's just as good, you can hear yourself think, and it works out much cheaper. Although its been a couple of years since i last went.

studio54 is at the bottom end of the nightclub hierachy though

having said that it is fun and less pretentious
 
Oh yes my little tip if you want lots of women(this use to work).

There was a male strip show in the Excalibur hotel, and a bar right at the side. And the bar use to be full of women and only women, for a good hour or two before the start of the show, and after the show.


Please note the strip show is in a separate room, in case the above sounded dodgy.
 
Tao at the Venetian is pretty awesome!! Had a few amazing nights there!!

Oh and don't forget to tip your waiter/waitress for every drink you get (not just per round) - the more you tip, providing you go back to the same person the stronger the next round will be - seriously!! Tip early and get the drinks flowing ;)
