Funny how he is the only one to get found not guilty. Again, its just a matter of fame getting you off light.

Not really funny, it seems perfectly logical. 1 hit the guy without reason and 4 others joined in the attact, they could hardly claim self defense. The Jury decided that Gerrard acted in self defense when the DJ lunged towards him, believing that Gerrard was the person who threw the initial punch.

A jury at Liverpool Crown Court agreed with Mr Gerrard's assertion that he was acting in self-defence.

The 29-year-old footballer, of Formby, Merseyside, was the only one of seven men to be cleared over the violence.

LOL! What a mockery of a farce!

Was he being attacked? No... Was he being prevented from walking away? No... Was the 1st punch self defense? Or the 2nd? Or the 3rd?

Money talks...

The rest went guilty before trial and that was their choice. Perhaps if they went to trial they may have been found not guilty ? Who knows ? They can not appeal against conviction now so it is a moot point.

A safe conviction of affray in this case is for the jury to be satisfied that where two or more persons use or threaten violence, it is the conduct of them all that must be considered and looking at the footage I think there was insufficient evidence for Steven Gerrard to be convicted.

I have no loyalty to Liverpool FC or Gerrard himself and my opinion is completely unbiased although it is only an opinion.
