Not the most enthralling of topics, but when you do your washing up do you dry them straight away with a cloth/towel or let them dry naturally on the draining board.

Just one of my friends seems to think that leaving them to dry is disgusting and unacceptable. Wondered if I was alone in leaving them to dry.

everything I wash, I rinse with hot top water straight away, to get rid of the soap

and I only ever wash using 100% hot tap water (almost unbearable)

most things dry themselves within 60 seconds, from the heat

If I run out of space on the drainer, I'll dry things to make more space. Other than that, its all left to air dry.

I tend to do the same. I used to use rubber gloves for when the hot water is unbearable on unprotected skin.

Leave them to drain, although my family doesn't make sense and insists on them being dried straight away "To make it look tidier".

Exactly same here, I read somewhere (don't know how true it was) that it's more unhygienic to dry them with a cloth/towel.

But you're right, if the water is scolding hot, the dishes tend to dry pretty damn quick anyway.

What is with the sudden surge of these threads recently? Do you wash your grapes? Which way do you stir your tea? What's next?

Do you prefer red or blue?
Do you like the smell of cheese?
What sound do you find more annoying- 'aaaaaaa' or 'ooooooo'?

For the record... drain :p

Drying them is bad. Any contaminents on the tower or one item is then transferred to everything else. Always drain.

Blue (colour of the forum)

'ooooooo' Would be the most annoying.
