HTC Hero, coming July on Orange and T-Mobile, makes me want!

So if T-Mobile are getting it tomorrow any my previous orderX says 6days with T-Mobile... I may as well switch?

That said - i want the white model; not sure T-Mobile direct are doing that one?

Where did u order it from? Are you sure its not a simfree one bundled with a tariff to make it cheaper? a lot of third party shops do that to get phones to people before they come out on the actual network.

No real down side for you, in fact it means you can get a phone that may never be available on an operator, subsidised on contract.

Can I confirm something, I don't know much about phones, I am currently coming to the end of my contract with Three, they have been ringing me asking if I want to upgrade but I've been telling them no as I want to cancel the contract.

Am I right in thinking that if I did upgrade (to an N97) I could then flog this on the 'bay and use the money to buy a sim-free Hero (or whatever is out) then buy a sim-only contract from Orange and use that with the Hero? Also, would I be better to get the N97 unlocked or would I still get a good price for it even if it's locked to Three? Thanks

If you uprgade your phone you are effectively renewing your contract so I don't see why you'd be wanting to purchase an Orange sim only contract as you would have two contracts running?

I've been thinking about buying a microSD, what size and how much did you pay Pixie?

Mine will be here tomorrow :D

I bought an 8GB class 6 for just over a tenner. I already have an 8GB class 4, but I want the phone to be as quick as possible. Apparently having the class 6 is quicker because the SD card is used for the swap file.

Yeah you're right, I fudged that up.

I meant renew contract with 3 and sell upgraded phone to buy a Hero. This phone business is confusing.

If you buy it new then sure but if you're planning on buying an unwanted upgrade from eBay then I'm unsure about warranties.

Looks like I'll be getting this one through mobiles.co.uk with 7months half price on orange.

£25 p/m, 400 mins, unlimited texts and the phone is free.

Reckon I could do better if I called them up (as a new customer, leaving o2)?

I've got the 500MB package with Orange but how much does that actually mean I can use?

Say I'm browsing the net for an hour or so a day, does that mean I'm going to have a bitch of a bill?

I'd imagine 500MB will be plenty for most users. I use the net on my N95 every working day for about 1-1.5 hours browsing mostly OcUK, facebook, a few other forums and on the odd occasion youtube. I'm pretty sure I don't come close to 500MB so I'm hoping it will be fine.

Tomorrow when I'm in work I will reset my data counter and make sure I use the net extensively to see how much data I use up in a single day and post back here.
