Do you shake hands at work?

When being introduced to people i haven't met previously, or if a customer is in the office for one reason or another and I am showing them something or being introduced to them.

No not a bloody chance.
Usually the first and last words out of our mouths are insults that would make even Chuck Norris blush!

shaking hands every day isn't really a british thing
in the UK, you (usually) shake hands with someone the first time you meet them.

over here in belgium, and especially in france, people will go around the office and shake hands with everybody when they come in to work. very odd :D

I don't see how it makes you feel more like a big family. I don't know anyone that shakes hands with their family everytime they see each other.

This is stupid for so many reasons.

If your hands are full with car keys, mobile phone, etc you just drop everything to shake somebody's hand who you've already been introduced to before and see on a daily basis.

I don't think even the Umpa Lumpa's in Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory are that crazy.

Very much the same out here in Brazil, everyday when arriving at the office it's always a quick handshake and/or pat on the back, as I visit different office/people everyday I alway shake hands/pat on the back/"hug"/kiss both cheeks everyday.

Ignorance in your case is a virtue. Go shake some more hands.
