Hi guys, me and the girlfriend want to go out for a meal tonight, preferably one that includes lots of meat and booze, and we thought about going to TGI Fridays.

The guys at work are telling me that its rubbish, overpriced food and that I should go somewhere else?

Anyone got any input?

Were not off for a romantic meal or anything :) just want some steak/booze without any effort.

i reckon its a bit overpriced for the food but the cocktails are good if thats what your after.

If its a good steak/drink you want then i'd look for a decent italian somewhere, will probably be cheaper than TGI

yeah its rubbish, if you want a meal with a lot of meat you need to seek out a restaurant that does a mixed grill on the menu, guaranteed a decent amount of meat then

It's overpriced but extremely tasty...similar to Frankie & Bennies, Nandos, Pizza Hut...food is all stupidly overpriced in these places but tastes lovely. You're basically paying for the name, same as going to the supermarket and buying heinz baked beans instead of own brand, they taste virtually the same and you pay for the name.

If you want good meat, don't go to TGI. I would look for a local pub/family business as they normally source good local meat and obviously supply decent booze.

It's not "bad" food as such, it's just not the quality you expect for the money they charge for it.

I've been a few times and their ribs are deecnt enough, but again you will expect something better when you see the bill.

It's perfectly serviceable. Not the best, not the worst. Not the most expensive, not the cheapest.

I quite like it to be honest.

Thanks for the input guys, dining options are slightly limited as I'm not in London :)
Going to the TGI's in Cheltenham, not after like A grade steak, but I want something abit better than Frankie and Bennys.
