some psu products are advertised as having a dual rail system.

does a modular psu - seeing as it has a high number of modular outputs (12V for example) have more 12V rails or do they still have one that feeds them all?

thanks!

thanks, i think i'll go with single rail.

i read recently that some items which require high loads sometimes don't work on multiple rails and do on a single rail as it can supply more amps.

if its more efficent i'd go with it and gives me a single point of failure too so i can find the problem if there is one ;)

the failure issue impacts on everything connected to the rail. When psu's fail that can take out/damage everything connected to whatever failed.

With multiple rails just ensure you get a psu with solid stable rails and if they have diff capacity's connect the highest draw item (gfx card) to the biggest rail.
