Police have charged a teen over a bleach attack on a mum who had asked a group to be quiet during a Harry Potter film.

It is alleged two people followed the family to a nearby restaurant after the film

The 46-year-old woman was with her husband and two children at the Vue cinema in Kirkstall Road, Leeds, last week.

During a screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince she asked a gang of at least five teenagers to stop making a noise.

West Yorkshire Police said two of the group followed the family to a nearby restaurant after the screening and threw bleach over the mum's head and back.

Normally stuff like this just makes me skip the page but what next? Getting corrosive substances thrown over you for asking kids to be quiet during a film?

I'd like to think the independents are safe... but you never know.

Gets on my ******* **** when people talk throughout a film. Fair enough if it's quiet but nowadays "youths" seem to think it's funny to talk loud enough to shout over the film :/

terrible

scumbags

i also cant stand people talking loudly whilst you're at the cinema. You just paid £6 to watch this film so ****** watch it!

This is why I boycott cinemas. Last time I went, it was to watch In The Loop, a political comedy so I thought I was pretty safe from chavs talking through the damn film. Instead I got the bloody local women's institute on a night out chatting to each other throughout the film  I hope all the swearing offended them.

It's a terrible thing to happen but I'm no longer shocked, I've seen video phone clips on Youtube of gangs of youths mistreating people on buses, after that I lost all faith in that certain type of young person.

luckily by me the cinemas now have a guard which patrols every 10mins or so of the film an if people are being a nuisance they simply get kicked out. best idea for this kind of problem i think :)

Read about this on BBC site last week, it's pathetic. Some people really are insane.

Hope they catch them and give them the same treatment.

and they wonder why piracy has gone up ????

the scum bags will no doubtedly get off in a few years and be at it again.... *sigh*

Crazy that some people even think like this. Society just needs rid of people like this.

That article actually made me feel ill. :( Who on Earth could ever do something like that? The thought process must be "I'm right, she's wrong. I must hurt her for telling me I'm wrong." Crazy. I can recall being told to stop doing something, or not to do something, but I can't remember feeling the urge to chuck bleach over the person that did so.

As for talking in the cinema, I usually give people fifteen minutes or so into a film to stop talking, then I have to take action. :p It is ridiculous though, people pay £7.50 to watch a film at my favourite cinema, if you're going to pay to watch a film... Watch it? Although, there haven't been as many people talking since the massive price increase.

What a sorry state of affairs, guards in cinemas, teenage yobs, this country is slowly falling apart.

I think it's more to do with impressing your friends. Like that kid who mashed himself up by misjudging a tombstoning dive... he only did it to impress his friends, and quite the opposite happened.

They should be put down.

Why should we treat them any differently from dangerous animals if they act as such?

" sorry kid, you didnt make the grade " bang....
