ASUS MARS BAR

Looks like this guy just picked the most expensive stuff he could find with out doing any research.

With new SSD's coming that Intel will be wasted too, EVGA classified so he can have less fps from his over priced graphics cards. 975 is also a waste.

Please for the love of god spend about £1500 now and upgrade it as new stuff comes out or your going to end up with a very expensive middle of the range machine by the end of the year.
 
well nothing is *new* for long in this industry

I would say get tri SLI GTX285 water cooled rather than two mars than you can spend that money else were like a big screen or something or for beer :p or for a motorbike :p (sorry i shouldn't have said that on here :p )
 
Its just a pure waste. If the latest cards were £1000 then its just a rich toy. However since these are old gen, its a pure waste of cash.


Judging from your title though, im guessing a joke.
 
You're looking at two £1K cards, and you're after a little discount?

People who want to spend two grand on GPUs alone don't need discounts - they should have to pay Stupid Tax :p
 
Have to admit I did give the asus mars more than a thought :( but in the end I decided it was 6-12 months too late to be worth that cash... and got a laptop instead :S
 
Another thing I would like to point out is that no game will ever need that much power, unless you play at an extremely high resolution... I have 9800GX2 and I can max out pretty much all the games out there, except for Crysis games, which everyone considers more as a benchmark tool than a game tbh...

It would even be cheaper to buy a single GTX 295, which can play all the games out in max and upgrade another 4 times for each generation or 2 afterwards.. so you get to play all all latest games at max settings, your £2,000 for your graphics card would last you a lot longer and you also get a lot more money back when you resell the cards..

I'm trying to talk some sense into you...

Maybe his heating's gone (phone British Gas for a boiler check-up, come on!) and he's worried about the winter! I also like the way people spend so much money on the kit, yet they never mention how much they're gonna spend on the games themself. Even if you spend £200 on games, you're still gonna spend 10x more on kit than stuff to actually use on the machine! :eek:

No need to befriend, I'm hopefully building it next Sat (These cards haven't arrived yet, even though they were supposed to be in the Friday gone)

dear god,, 4k to play some games! :eek:

I'd spend £500 on a machine, spend the rest on a big screen and speakers, I bet te overall experience will be better if you do this...

The fact that you think 'brought' means bought as well as saying mars's says to me you should be spending £2000 odd on English and common sense lessons and not on two Asus Mars bars to increase your e-peen.

I also can't believe what your username is, I cringe every time I look at it.
