Might have to get a train to nottingham when i go to Vfest. Do you think i will be able to carry the following -

Tent - Galert popup (2.5kg)
Double airbed - 3kg
Sleeping bag
60 litre backpack
Wellies

Hopefully the sleeping bag will go in the backpack and i can hang the wellies off it

Yes, although its not light.

I have an MSR Hubba Hubba HP which weighs 1.7kg for a sturdy 2 person tent.
A thermarest prolight 3 weighs about 400grm AKAIK.

Yes. Easily. I carried much more over a much longer distance when travelling, and I am a streak of ****

Easily. Though I'd ditch the air bed for a ground mat, when at a festival you're generally so wasted you don't care where you sleep and won't spend much time asleep.

Also remember that for every item you take, that's less valuable beer/food carrying space :)

Depends how strong you are, as it would with any 'how much can I carry' question.

You need to pack everything right and not make it too spread out. I camped at T in the Park last year, strapped my tent to the top of my rucksack and my sleeping back behind the straps that close the lid of said rucksack, leaving both hands free to carry other stuff.

You need a strong back and shoulders and you'll look like an old man when you finally find your camping spot, but that's all part of the fun right?

I assume most of the stuff is going in the 60L bag? What else is going in there, a change of clothes and some odds and ends? If so that would only be around 12-14kg, and it's not as if you're hiking across the moors/mountains...

For comparison, my walking pack comes in at around 14-16kg, and thats for walking all day. (inc. sleeping equipment, 2L water, food, and 6kg of photography equipment)

Here's a tip, take cheap stuff so that you can just chuck it when you're coming home. You'll be way too tired to carry it back to the car at the end.

Depends if you're a little scrawny indie kid or a bloke really.
You could probably ditch the airbed, man up, maybe a ground mat or something if you're really that worried about where you sleep when you're battered.

Have you also taken into account booze smuggling weight too?

I'm a scrawny indie kid and I've carried that kind of stuff before. You'll be alreet... though presumably you're getting the train? Getting it all on and off without falling down the gap might be tricky, do you have any friends?

It depends entirely upon your determination!

*arnie voice* DO EEET!

When glastonbury rolls around I tend to manage:

- Large back pack of clothes/essentials.
- Tent.
- Inflatable Sofa.
- 2 Roll Mats.
- Inflatable Double Air bed.
- Bag of several Thermos flasks filled with various spirits & drinkable delicacies.

I use those Sainsbury's Canvas bags as the handles are lovely and the bags are STRONG!

The second trip to the car is for foods/further beverages.
