Not necessarily, it's only old people that make up the name for it. Yes the images can be used for sexual thought but generally I would suggest that it would still come under "not indecent". Again, think of page 3.

Kids are trying to grow too fast with all this tech, 10 years we had bricks and 56k internet now we have pictures sent asap via mobile phones and web cams, its up to the parents, if I found out my child was messing about with those pictures the phone would be gone and all the pocket money, their is time and a place for that stuff and its not for kids under 16/17

Nice attempt at trying to sound like a nostalgic elder, shame you missed the fact that webcams have been around since the 1990's and mobile phones with cameras have been around for 6 years now. This is nothing new.

Interesting you mentioned 16/17 as an ok age. I think most people would suggest the same thing, due to the age of consent.

I'd also hazard a guess that most of the underage images would go from and too people in that age group.

in my very school a girl 16 at the time was naked on camera to a boy also 16 who took a photo on his phone and send it to nuts or zoo where it was published a few weeks after or so the story goes, not 100 percent on the publish part tho

The only thing disturbing about this is people being arrested for taking pictures of themselves, which is essentially punishing the victim of the crime.

Someone in year 9 group(age 14) got their tit's out for a boy he print screened it then sent it to everyone.
The girl kept on getting picked on so she left.

My friend sent a picture of her boyfriend to a guy called Aaron (he's always getting random texts and calls because his name starts Aa). She'd just put her phone in her pocket without locking it and by chance it picked that picture and sent to him.

Luckily her boyfriend was hung like a horse so there was nothing to be embarrased about!

Not new technology, but the social networking websites are the new factor enabling very fast distribution of images direct from phone to web page... Very little thought is required, whereas in the recent past it'd have been a conscious effort.
Quite soon the default behaviour of a phone will be to send every picture you take straight to your social network profile so you can more easily share and manage your digital life, or something.
