And dropped off the following.

Onkyo 607 Amp.

Kef 2005.3 speakers

sub cable, speaker cable, best of all though, they were out of stock of the subs for the 2005.3 so i got the upgraded sub from the 3005SE's for free. (The Kef HTB round one).

Will post some pics when i get home as I start to assemble, they are replacing my Z5500 logitech speakers so im hoping for a nice boost in performance!

All set up, cant really test now till tomorrow due the neighbours bedroom being below my living room, ill give her a blast tomorrow.

Ill need to have a read through the instructions as well, also is there a way to know whether the wires on the rears are plugged in the right way? (red-red black-black) the cables are unmarked to the rears, so its sorta pot luck, will it have any major bearing?

Surely you used the same speaker cable for the fronts and the rears? I've never had speaker cable without markings on it somewhere.

What cable is it?

There must be something, even if its some kind of dot or dashes, there is usually something to differentiate the wires

The rear cables i put in a few weeks ago, ill have a look for dots and dashes though tomorrow when its light. The front ones are correct as i followed them down, suppose theres a 50/50 chance with the rears they are correct anyway.

Sounds coming out of them alright anyway :p

To be fair, if they're the wrong way round the amp will cut out and say check cable polarity. Well mine does, so I'm sure a newer one will too.

Excellent, ive not had any problems so far, but now you mention that, i did get rid of an amp that kept cutting out about 10 years ago, i thought it was on the blink and gave it away, cost me £500 at the time as well.

You live and learn i suppose.

Got almost the same setup Kef 2005.3s albeit with a Kube2 not the 3005 sub and an Onkyo 605 and it sounds great :) You certainly get a decent sound for such small speakers!

Wow nice kit!

How will you tidy the cables?..I plan to get a reciever/speakers very soon..using built in at the mo..

Thanks :)

let us know how you get on with the 607 please, looking to get mine in a week or two. going to cut the connectors off my samsung HT212 speakers and use those untill my budget allows an upgrade :)

bought same cable wrap stuff, so its tidied up pretty well so far (although i havent attempted the back of the stand but whats on it covers it pretty well).

Will do Macca, will be giving it its first outing tonight with the football, and ive got an indiana jones marathon on Friday with my nephew to get through.

Seem to be all up and running now, the only thing that is annoying me, because of the height of the centre stand on the kef, i cant fit the speaker on top of my tv stand, so i have to sit it just to the left of it.

Does a centre speaker really need to be in the centre, or dosent it matter too much?

Metalface Mark could you please list what cables you required to get this setup done...I really would like to get a setup maybe even the same as yours! just confused as to what cables are needed..or do they come with the kef speakers..onkyo amp?

Ta :)

I just bought some speaker cable with it, the guys there recomennded some, the onyl other cable you need is the sub cable, thats it :)

ill post some pictures up tonight of the finished job.
