Why did I wait so long to play Uncharted?

I've had it for ages but I never got round to playing it. So I though I'd give it ago. You all may at some time get that rare acorance where you'll come across a game such as say Zelda, Mario 64 or Golden Eye on the Nintendo 64 and you sit back and are just blown away by it's brilliance. Well Uncharted gave me a feel good feeling that blows any other game I've played in my life away.

I'm sure this must be the greatest game ever made never mind on the PS3 or this generation. As you read this people which haven't played it will be thinking "exaggerate much" but I'm sure anyone who's played it and many here will have will know what I'm saying to be true.

I can't praise this game enough. I just hope Uncharted 2 will be just as good. From the videos it looks like constant fighting for you life. I hope they don't go overboard with it as in the first game there seems to be a good balance of exploration, story, puzzles and combat.

It's great and certainly in the top 5 games released this generation imo, but best game ever is pushing it a little even for me :p

The next game is actually supposed to have more puzzles this time around so i wouldn't worry about there being too much combat

I need to give this another go. I only got to the sub marine part and haven't touched it since.

Travesty, the game doesn't even get going until about 30 mins after then

Its the only game I actually felt compelled to get a platinum trophy on which I think says a lot, given how punishing some of the areas in the game can be on the highest difficulty.

One day I will finish the game on Crushing to get my platinum trophy.

I was about 2/3rds the way through it on Crushing when the original "patch" got released that added trophies etc. Unfortunately it buggered my game save so I had to complete the game again on normal (to unlock crushing mode) and then started Crushing again. My PS3 broke just as I entered the first level with the guys with laser sights. PS3 has been repaired now, but I have not picked the game up again. Still got a month or so at least before next Uncharted 2 beta starts and then the game will be released in Oct.

Well I'm here I may as well ask was there a collectors edition of this game ever released?
Not to my recollection, just normal versions and (later) platinum versions.

I found it a bit meh...it was OK, and the storyline and graphics were pretty decent; certainly gave you a feeling of being there, but I wouldn't give it more than 8/10...

I know that I'll get lynched as people in here love it, but I really didn't think it was the utterly fantastic game that it's seen as.

Playing it on and off at the moment, it is certainly a decent game but it feels a little like a poor mans Tomb Raider. It doesn't have the same fluidity to it.

Playabe enough though.

This is a good use of a Blu-ray Disc, too. Excellent game complemented by HD behind-the-scenes stuff like interviews and concept art. More devs should do it, just like DVD extras with films.

Alas, playing this game now renders playing any Tomb Raider outing quite painful. I keep attempting to play TR:Underworld but never get past the first couple of levels. It's such a dull, uninspiring yawnfest.

I have a pre-trophy save which has crushing unlocked, I'll be annoyed if it gets corrupted when I finally get round to playing it again!

I love uncharted, my fav ps3 game! I'm determined to get the platinum trophy before uncharted 2 comes out.

One of my fave next gen games, Only bettered by MGS4 and Possibly Mass Effect now I think about it

I really need to get round to playing Mass Effect; saw it for a tenner on the PC today, but I've got so many other games to be getting on with at the moment that I can't justify it!

Never played. One of my mates recently completed it and loved it.

I may have to get this for the PS3. My PS3 has been sitting around doing nothing for a couple of months... :(

I only got 10 minutes in till my ps3's fan started giving it the WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH and I turned it off :(. I really should get back to it seemed like a good tomb raider type game (though no eye candy :().
