Samsung

Samsung 22" monitor. No dead pixels but small screen crack and not a clue how it got there, just appeared one day! Samsung phone I got shot of just because it had naff software. I like the monitors though :)

Problems with Samsung hardware:

None. Ever.

Have I had a lot? Yes

TV
Monitor
Phone
DVD Drives
Other random bits

I think you just have been unlucky or are for some reason very biased. I have had far worse experience with Dell, Sharp, Sony and Toshiba

Samsung F1 1TB
HD103UJ
After only 6600hours of runtime
bought it last year for my server.
I get the S.M.A.R.T Threshold exceeded error
luckily I could move all the files to my backup and then RMA to REXO
so I requested RMA and asked them if I could deliver it myself and possible replace it right there, they told me sure.
I took my sat nav and drove down there around 13miles
knock on the door a chinese guy opened took a look on my RMA paper, the dude didn't even checked the drive for problems just went to the cabinet with loads of Sammie drives and gave one to me and off I went!
Samsung might not have the best quality stuff however their RMA for harddrives are second to none.

Got a Samsung SM226BW. Amazing monitor. No problems.

Maybe, just maybe, you are one of these unlucky people. All electronics suffer faults now and again. That's just life.

Maybe you should send your complaints to Samsung instead of complaining on a public forum. Yes, it's annoying, but these things happen with technology.

A little biased here, or a patch of bad luck? I've recently started to use samsung more.
Why? Because i have never had a problem with them and there stuff is always high quality, which is another for some companies :/

40" LCD TV (cant remember model number) - had for 18 months, absolutely no problems, dead pixels etc.

22" Sync Master 226BW - Had for about 2 years again with no problems dead pixels etc

GX10 DSLR - A seriously good camera for the money!

NC10 - only had for about 6 months, but no problems as of yet

~10 F1 Spin Points - never had a single failure

Various DVD drives - no problems here either

Asus on the other hand!.......

32" Samsung LCD TV - Had it for over 4 years and never set a foot wrong!

Various samsung HDD's - Never failed once and i have at least dropped one of them :p

Samsung Phones - Had 3 samsung phones over the years and no problems with them either.

I guess its just luck/bad luck for some.

I must be doing something right.

I've got four samsung HDDs here, two of whcih have been in a RAID0 array for five years, just turned that machine on for the first time in a month, boots up fine, still nice and zippy for file transfers.

Have had a couple of 2.5" sammy drives on USB-IDE dongles [no case, I'm hardcore - bare electronics] - kept them in an antistatic bag at the bottom of my rukcsack, hiked a couple of miles a day around islington for three years with them, re-imagine machines from them - no problems. Still work last I tried them [couple of months ago - not sure where they are now, arf]. That's some serious abuse, I never gently set that bag down...always thrown in a corner whenever I got back home/to the office/on the bus etc.

Used a Samsung GX10 in my last job - aside from being a school IT chap, I used their camera to take snaps of official dos and whatnot - worked fine, didn't like the UI but it worked fine.

Mate has a Samsung Red Rose and another 22" one that I don't recall the name of - both work fine.

And all teh Dells in my office - about forty of them - have Samsing HDDs - none of them have had a single HDD fault, period.

Also, all my home computer equipment is based around Asus mobos.

I;m either tempting fate, or I'm seriously blessed!

Edited to add - I forgot about the Smasung X10 laptop we used as a general machine in the PC CLinic in PC World some five years ago - that thing took all kinds of abuse - being dropped, having stuff pilled on it, etc. The only thing that happened was the battery lost it's charge [it was plugged in most fo the time and never left to go flat] and it had a screen replacement. That was because an irate customer put his fist down on it, thinking it was part of the metal workbench, until it went 'craaack'. Stil booted and worked Ok on an external VGA monitor though!

Spend thousands of pounds on Samsung electricals over the years, including 3 LCD's, 2 BR players, 5-6 mobile phones, 1 TFT, a Microwave, 1 HD and only one mobile has had problems in that time.

Samsung rule the electronic world and rightly so, setting the benchmark for best pound for pound equipment out there.
