40" LCD TV (cant remember model number) - had for 18 months, absolutely no problems, dead pixels etc.
22" Sync Master 226BW - Had for about 2 years again with no problems dead pixels etc
GX10 DSLR - A seriously good camera for the money!
NC10 - only had for about 6 months, but no problems as of yet
~10 F1 Spin Points - never had a single failure
Various DVD drives - no problems here either
Asus on the other hand!.......
I must be doing something right.
I've got four samsung HDDs here, two of whcih have been in a RAID0 array for five years, just turned that machine on for the first time in a month, boots up fine, still nice and zippy for file transfers.
Have had a couple of 2.5" sammy drives on USB-IDE dongles [no case, I'm hardcore - bare electronics] - kept them in an antistatic bag at the bottom of my rukcsack, hiked a couple of miles a day around islington for three years with them, re-imagine machines from them - no problems. Still work last I tried them [couple of months ago - not sure where they are now, arf]. That's some serious abuse, I never gently set that bag down...always thrown in a corner whenever I got back home/to the office/on the bus etc.
Used a Samsung GX10 in my last job - aside from being a school IT chap, I used their camera to take snaps of official dos and whatnot - worked fine, didn't like the UI but it worked fine.
Mate has a Samsung Red Rose and another 22" one that I don't recall the name of - both work fine.
And all teh Dells in my office - about forty of them - have Samsing HDDs - none of them have had a single HDD fault, period.
Also, all my home computer equipment is based around Asus mobos.
I;m either tempting fate, or I'm seriously blessed!
Edited to add - I forgot about the Smasung X10 laptop we used as a general machine in the PC CLinic in PC World some five years ago - that thing took all kinds of abuse - being dropped, having stuff pilled on it, etc. The only thing that happened was the battery lost it's charge [it was plugged in most fo the time and never left to go flat] and it had a screen replacement. That was because an irate customer put his fist down on it, thinking it was part of the metal workbench, until it went 'craaack'. Stil booted and worked Ok on an external VGA monitor though!
