Just caught a quick glimpse of the end of Channel 4 news and I'm sure they are reporting there is a running battle currently in Birmingham city centre between an Anti Muslim protest organised by a group called the ?British Defnce League? and Anti Racist counter protestestors.

I can't find it being reported anywhere else on the other news outlets, anybody else got any info??

so whos the stupid plod who let the anti muslim protest go ahead?

It's a supposedly free Country, so if someone wants to march against something then they can! Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean it should be banned!

True, but I imagine the racists involved in an antimuslim protest are all skinheads. ;)

Don't be pedantic, the meaning of my question was clear.

:p Ok then not all racists are skinheads:p some are even C of E vicars I know beacuse I have the displeasure of knowing one here in Brum

I know what you meant though. I believe the British Defence League is a coalition of far right groups led by the BNP.

***This frustrating, all Sky and the BBC want to report is some dead americans in a Helicopter/plane collision because that is a relevant primary British news story

Because islam is a race....

These "Anti-BNP", Anti Racist, pro green sort of turds are invariably more fascist than what they oppose :/

I'm reporting the Channel 4 news report, the counter protesters were described as Anti-racist. Also if you think the BDL "Anti Muslim" protest isn't a thinly disguised racist stab at the various ethnic groups in Brum and the UK as a whole then you've got your head in the sand.

I'm very anti BNP and I'm certainly not a "turd", I believe and steadfastly uphold the concept of free speech as do many of my peers who feel the same about the BNP, I don't like them but they have the right to have their say. No side has the right to intimidate. From experience many 'active' members of the BNP don't recipricate the concept of free speech.

You do seem to have an issue with stereotyping

******Edit,

Ok just seen it again on Channel 4+1, the group are called the English Defence league, and the fights are taking place between what looks like Black and asian groups and the EDL. It's a bit lop sided, the EDL are about 40 strong and the other side are at least 200. Just had a call from a friend who works in a pub in the city centre and it's Police city at the moment and there are still scuffles between groups apparently.

I have to agree with this.

For example see all the retarded students trying to ban the BNP from speaking and blocking people from entering.

7 years since the Oldham riots, makes you think about the country and that some areas are all Muslims etc. strange how we cant all live together, never been to Birmingham but heard its literally black.

Except for the large number of predominantly white areas, but hey why should we let statistical facts get in the way of good old histeria.

It's not literally black.

There is a wide mixture actually, and for the most part there is no problems.

The trouble in town is because the BNP have decided to come down and protest.
