And why would immigrants come here to go on a social housing list? The absolute majority come over to find work or have to get a job or find themselves staying and end up working. We criticise them for taking 'our' benefits yet they are also criticised for taking 'our' jobs.

You do realise many people have jobs and live in council houses? :rolleyes:

Where did I say the immigrants don't work? I say they do... in the main low skill labour which should be filled by natives who are currently out of work... but especially the long term unemployed.

Many as in how many? Statistics? I doubt its a lot, most people with jobs rent I'm guessing.

Low skilled jobs seemingly aren't wanted by the long term unemployed. Its not immigrants that's keeping them out of work.

Why should I waste my time posting statistics? How about you do it for all your counter arguements?

What I am talking about is just common sense.

I absolutely hate scroungers and do not want them even having the chance to use immigration as an excuse! Those that refuse low skilled labour should have their benefits stopped. Then if there is a low skilled labour shortage we should naturally have controlled immigration.

Um unless you can prove that 0 immigrants apply for council houses than my claim that there is already not enough to go around stands. Do you understand that?

E.g. my step dad and his two girls wanted to move out ... he could not afford to rent a house big enough (close to the school, his work ect) and was on the list for 2 years, trust me there is not enough social housing.

So like I said post proof if you know your counter arguement to be true. I don't care enough either way but please don't spam quote people saying "proof, post links" ect if you are not will to do so when requested.

That doesn't make sense. I suspect you're getting too heated for this discussion to continue on in a rational manner.

Your arguments are deeply flawed. I don't understand the fixation with social housing and why you're linking it to immigration.

So yeah many people in social housing do have jobs just like I said.

Sometimes they just can not afford to rent and are in a low paid job with a family to support.

  • Immigrants DO apply for social housing (not saying they should not, just saying)
  • There is not enough social housing to go around for the natives let alone adding more and more immigrants to the list
  • The natives that can work should work. They should do any job low skilled or otherwise. We do not need low skilled immigration if the natives had there benefits withdrawn for refusing to get a job
