this is just a quick question but- would they fit with minor mods to a normal focus? eg bumpers, skirts and spoiler. obviously i'd need to mount the spoiler and skirts but would bumpers be a case of swapping them? and would they fit? ie are all focuses the same width length?

a y reg focus is a mk1?? so would that be mk1 RS(is it available)? or mk 1 ST?

The MK1 ST170 was a MK1.5 so the fittings are slightly different iirc.

A Focus RS, i'm not so sure.

Someone here has a membership to FFOC and may be able to help more.

A mk1 RS has wider arches so an RS kit would require a lot of work for it to fit although people have fitted this before.

Plenty of people on FFOC have fitted the ST170 kit which just consists of a mk1.5 front bumper, st170 grill, st170 fogs & surrounds, skirts (I'm not too sure about) and a mk1.5 rear bumper. Some of the fittings may be different but it should be straightforward enough.

Why would you want to make a 1.6 Y reg Focus look like an RS/ST? Should you not have spent the extra and gone and actually got one of these cars instead of buying the 1.6 and then spending money making it look fast

probably to look like an rs/st, but cheaper to buy, and run perhaps?

But why? He's going to have to declare mods to insurance companies and most of the time it would have been cheaper to insure an ST than a 1.6 thats modded to look like an ST.

For me it's going down the same road as chavvy Saxo/106 drivers with a massive exhaust, crazy bodykit and airplane wing stuck on the back.

i'm just asking. i'm not going to actually do it as i already own and have raced things that would do 0-60 quicker than 3s. :p

i was just wondering what the differences were as with a Cossie, you just put a spoiler on the bumpers and fogs on and its a straight swap. thats all. :)

I thought the only stock Escort part on a Cossie was the rear light clusters?

i was thinking sierra sorry.

yeah on the esort it has different wings/bonnet/rear quarters/bumpers etc. although i think on a few the headlights and indicators were stock weren't they and as you say the rear light clusters?:)

Not true for the RS, you'd be doing major re-working of the rear three-quarters at a minimum. Off the top of my head, as well as that work you'd need to replace the bumpers, front wings, front light clusters, add the side skirts and rear spoiler. Not to mention widening the track etc.
