+1 Xbox 360 Wired control Pad. I have 3 and they are great. A lot of games are set up for plug and play, especially xbox ports
Has anybody got a definitive answer to the question of getting any PS2/3 pad to fully work on Vista 64? This question has been asked multiple times in similar threads but they always seem to tail off, pointing to extinct driver websites or obscure user comments etc. It would be nice if there was a "get this, do that, and it will work" type answer.
The issue with the 360 pad is the frankly disgusting d-pad, which the PS3 has done very well.360 controller for the PC is vastly better than any PS3 controller - which is frankly dreadful!
on my previous screenshot all I had done was plug it into the USB port and windows (vista64) knew what it was. I didn't go any futher as I have the Xbox360 pad. The only reason I sometimes plug the PS3 pad in is to charge it. I will try it again later and test some more. I would have thought if it shows up in my game controllers with a status of 'OK' then it would just work? the next obstacle would be getting various games to use it, it's at that point that would be a much better off with an xbox360 pad. All mordern games support it with no setting up. games even show the buttons on screen
Sorry, but the 360 pad is poor. It's not even that comfortable to hold, doesn't feel quite "right" in the hands.
It was a pretty large decision in me changing my 360 for a PS3 last year, I couldn't enjoy any of the games because I couldn't get my hands comfortable.
No problem with the DS3, or the Sixaxis (although that just felt weird cos of it's weight).
