How do i get a small bit of water out of my bath?

You need to take the trap apart (unscrew it) and clean out whatever is blocking the flow. There's a 99.9% chance that it's blocked with hair, the hair will also hold on to other bits of filth adding to the problem.

At the end of day this is the way.

Mr Muscle do a gel that can work through standing water. Quite well at that I might add.

EDIT - Mr Muscle Sink and Plughole Unblocker

GD answer:

Push the freezer into the bathroom, wedge it over the bath with the door open and turn it on full. When the water in the bath has frozen, break it up by either punching it or hitting it with your keyboard and then take it out of the bath.

Useful answer 1: Scoop as much as possible out with a mug or something like that, get some of the rest up with suction from an empty washing up liquid bottle or suchlike, then use a towel to get water away from the plughole and to make a sort of damn in the bath.

Useful answer 2: Use a drain-clearing product that works through standing water.

Incidentally, you can get products specifically for bathroom sink/bath/shower blockages. They're geared mainly towards hair and work well in my experience.

If you do use any unblocking product and it doesn't work, be very careful if you use a plunger or take the pipework apart afterwards, because the product will still be there and it's probably somewhat dangerous.

Incidentally, most unblocking products are essentially heavily diluted caustic soda. You can buy undiluted caustic soda at a fraction of the price, but it's nasty stuff. Not to be confused with soda crystals/washing soda. Caustic soda is one of the few things I'd actually follow the safety instructions on, using gloves and stuff. It isn't going too far to use protective clothing, goggles and a full-face mask. For example, if you add water to caustic soda (rather than adding caustic soda to water), it can erupt highly corrosive chemicals into your face. The reaction between caustic soda and water is violently exothermic. Sure as hell unblocks things, though. I am surprised it can be bought so easily - you can find it in places like Wilko's. It isn't even officially an age-restricted product.

I had to do this with my bath. you need a tube, then fill it with water to the top with your thumb over each end. Plunge one end to the bottom of the drainage pipe and the other end into a bucket. Remove thumb and bobs your teapot.

The likelihood of you possessing a tube of any description are quite slim though i guess? :D

Oh a syphon. Yeah that would work, provided the water in the bath is higher. Real men suck though, none of this pansie "filling up the tube" malarky :p

Yep, use caustic soda crystals. It's the best unblocker I've used and won't rot the pipes. You can buy it in any hardware shop by the half kilo and just keep it next to the bath. As soon as it starts to drain slowly stick some down and it'll clear it through in minutes.

In this case I'd pour a cupful of dry crystals straight through the water down the plughole, but expect it to bubble, fizz and burp a bit.

It's sodium hydroxide so if you get it on your skin wash it off with water immediately and be careful to keep it away from your eyes.
