So baby P's parents and killers have been named...

Concurrent sentencing is also a stupid idea in my book. Ten years for the rape and 12 years for the murder are to be served concurrently - he should have to serve them both separately

So the judge has lifted a ban on hiding the identity of the killers, but on the flipside, they will be given new identities to protect them when released from prison. Is a prison sentence enough for a couple like this who terrorised the baby with their pet rotweiller.

Probably not, but that's the sentence they got which are law allows. once they are released they have served there time and as such should be allowed to live a life like the rest of us.

And their identitys had to be hid till at least after the trials. So a fair trial and for there safety. Now they are behind bars and safe the bans been lifted.

I agree with this as it happens; they did a terrible thing but once they have served the punishment they have been given, that ought to be the end of it.

Now they are behind bars and safe
Not sure I agree with your logic there though ;) (prison isn't a safe place)

Stop it happening again, act as a deterrent to others..

Hasn't the deterent effect of the death penalty been pretty much debunked? The vast majority of murderers either think they are not going to get caught anway or aren't really thinking of the consequences of their actions. States which have the death penalty do not tend to have lower murder rates either. So the deterrent factor is non-existent. Locking them up for life will also stop them doing it again. So why kill them?

I'm not one to go baying for blood when these things come around but i'm still for the death penalty.

Not from a revenge point of view but from a punishment point of view and to remove these people from society without the cost of jailing them.

Only in cases where it's very obvious they're guilty though.

Long prison sentences and the very real threat of getting attacked or killed by members of the public or fellow prisoners didn't deter these people so why should the death penalty. Just as there are plenty of capital crimes committed in countries which do have the death penalty.
