What do i do about crap calls?

Just now i got a call from an International number, at 8.30PM.
He asked for the homeowner or w/e, and i asked him to remove my number from their database. He replied with 'i wont delete your number, and ill call back tomorrow'. I asked what company he was from and first he said 'japan' then i asked him again and i couldn't understand him, i also asked for the business phone number nad to speak to his supervisor but he started cussing. I'm getting pretty annoyed with these calls, and i told him what i thought of him.

What do i do about these calls, because i canot get thier numbers when they are all international or withheld. If he rings back tomorrow i will record it.
 
Call your network operator and block incoming international calls for a month or so. or just answer the phone and give them some heavy abuse, usually stops them calling :)
 
I'm registered with the TPS, it stops a hell of a lot of these kinds of things. Unfortunately it doesnt do anything to prevent international calls as they dont fall under the UK law covered by TPS. I'd go with the give them heavy abuse option and see if that does the trick :)
 
If they ring back tomorrow just ask him/her to hang on a second while you get the homeowner, and then place the phone to one side.This will cost them money and may deter them :) You could even keep them hanging on by saying the person is just on their way etc...wont be long now :D

do what I did and unplug the phone.
Only have it due to internet anyway and a mobile on contract so might as well use the free minutes.
 
Start chatting to them like they're an old friend, ask about their day ,etc

they'll get bored quickly
 
i think theres some kind of law which if you ask them to remove your number they have to do it within a few days or somthin, although i'm not too sure about it, one way to deter them tho is to play loud hardcore porn down the phone and say your busy an will call them back
 
Sign up for the TPS.
Leave the phone on the side and go do something else.
Ask them loads of questions.
Get them really close to making a sale, then when they ask for your card details, throw in the "fact" that you've just got out of jail for credit card fraud.

Are you sure, because I'd just think I'd called a pathetic loser whose Mrs carries on in the background by herself because you've gone to answer the phone mid-coitus.

or answer a few questions, then say hello who is this? then start the call again form fresh and repeat untill they hang up

or ask your telephone provider to block all witheld numbers, will cost a few £ a month :(

I like this idea. Pretend to have short term memory loss. Be really eager and answer their question for a min or 2 then go silent for a bit then ask who it is and what they want (with genuine interest) and repeat.
 
Thanks guys, ill look into the TPS registration. I told him to remove the number, and he said 'I will not remove it, and i will call back tomorrow' :(

Ill try and record too if he riongs back, and ill have some fun. thanks
