The Official Football Manager 2010 Thread

I bought 06 & 08 but barely played them. I'm that slow playing FM that I don't even get anywhere near finishing the demos! I just can't get into the right frame of mind to get a season going so find other things to do. I do always play with lower division sides though.

Looking at 2010 gives me a more positive feel. It looks more like football with the quick tactical changes via simple instructions rather than lots of fiddly sliders and menus that I invariably changed, returned to the match, then realised I hadn't changed all the options I wanted too.

Like the look of the nets. Always important! Reminds me of Spain '82.
 
ffs ruined my life due to fm09

me and 3 mates play reguluary on a hamachi server, its great :D
 
Would be too hard to manage I think Shamikebab, as lots would be up for it at the start then they'll just start dwindling away and it'll just wreck the game.

Nice to see you got the official thead going at least Marc, should have a well updated first post now, FM09 thread had like 2 links :(

I really do hope this year also that they don't release half a game like they tend to do and you have to wait until January for a proper patch, it's becoming an annoying habit from SI.

Nows probably also a good time for everyone to start ordering their stress balls :P The amount of times I nerd-rage at these games is unreal, all those times you spend hours on your tactics then you get facerolled 4-0 in your first game.
 
I must say, that user interface in the WIP images looks stunning and much better and the touchline instructions is something ive always wanted. Frantically shouting "SHOOOOOOOOOOOOT YOU FOOL!" at the screen can be replaced with a simple click, and actually mean something this time :p

Yeah I guess, but if we do it with a few of us 'FM thread regulars' who are clearly going to keep the interest up it could be good.
 
I skipped 09 to give myself a bit of a rest from the series, so I imagine I'll be picking this up near launch. Hopefully as there are little new features it will run smoothly which I would rather have after a year out of the series.
 
October 22nd - Windows 7

October 25th - another 6Gb memory

October 30th - football manager heaven

i cant wait to play this game, so i can forget the terrible attempt at a game they call Football Manager Live....

At least from October the 30th i can live in utter delusion that a business savy multi-trillionaire runs Newcastle United and that i and Alan Shearer are steering them back to their days of glory.
 
I'm interested in seeing how much budget they give Sunderland in this years game - last season they only had a budget of only a few million in FM09, even though Keane spent like 50 million or so. Also, they tend to never get the players stats right :/ I always end up having to manually change them in the editor to be more realistic.
