Was down at courtenay sport today getting the car remapped. I'll let the graphs do the talking

278 bhp and 313 lb/ft before the remap

301bhp and 393 lb/ft after the remap.

and how does it feel ?

Well it pulls like an absolute train now. Best way of describing it, is that sometimes in first, when you really hooked the car up, no tyre spin or loss of grip etc.. you could just feel the car gripping and surging forwards

It now gives that "tug" all the way through the mid range. No longer does it just do this only in perfect conditions, its all the time. The speed it goes from 30-70 is seriously rapid. I'll go out at some point this week and get some data with dynolicious to compare with before, but i expect a significant reduction.

Am i happy ? god yes. Just a question of what next now. Ive had exhaust, filter and remap, and the few tweaks of the interior. Possibly address some of the vectras handling issues with a set of lowering springs i think.

Congrats, the best thing about a remap is not the peak figure, it's what it does to the mid range. If the peak power figure is at 6k it's not really much use but the graphs clearly show how much extra you are getting through the rev range you can actually use!

Nice, also the original curve looks very odd, its got 2 peak torques, it's as if the guy let go of the throttle at max power a bit.

How has the remap affected the mpg?

hard to tell, i had a real mixed bag on the way back. Some of it was constantly nailing it pass trucks and lorries, other parts on the A1 was just sat at 60mph behind friday rush hour traffic.

Seems to be about the same though from my brief experiences with it.

Glad you have that increase in power, it will make all the difference driving on Britain's congested roads :p

The thing about the remap is that its a high torque low power remap. Only 20bhp extra but 80 lb/ft extra. Thats because the extra torque is usefull in real world situations as it helps the mid range.

Generally speaking, bhp will up your top speed, and torque will increase your acceleration. So the extra torque was very hand today on the a17 back from norwich for overtaking all those lorries :D

That's quite a big gain at 4*10^3 RPM.

Does remapping void the warranty?

yes it has, but it only had 2 months left on it anyway as its a 56 plate

changed all the dash illumination to blue

and a set of alloy pedalds from irmscher. Most of the VXR range get these as standard, but they skimped on the vectra for some reason !

What, slowly and surely up to a maximum speed of 125mph? Or you mean you can now tow a really heavy caravan?

Because one thing a train won't do is accelerate really quickly so actually I doubt it pulls like a train at all, what have you been pulling? :p
