Mate is after a card for £50 that can do a bit of gaming. What's about? Thinking a 9600gt? Any ATI that are better?
Thanks.
Thanks.

there's that 9600gso that on offer right now... £40 I think.
My mate can stretch to a 4850, is it worth it over the 9600gt?
Absolutely. The 4850 is about as powerful as a 9800GTX - so it's a very decent jump in performance. If I had to guess - i'd say 30-40% more FPS.
Think you mean the 4850 is equal to the 9800gtx+. To the op yea get the 4850 its a good bit faster than the 9600.
I just had a look at this review and I think our little argument has been made silly. In anything other than 1200p these three cards are VERY similar in performance, certainly too close to be able to see any difference in games. When compared to something like a 4870 or GTX 260, these difference pale into insignificance.
Bottom line: OP - get the 4850, it's a great card.
