**** have got an official release date on this? Didn't realise this was confirmed as haven't heard it anywhere else?

Is it really true?!

If you think the biggest game of the PS3 is out in 42 days without a hint of publicity you need help.
 
GT5 will not need to have time to advertise, GT5P was announced at TGS and that was out a few months later. All sony have to say is when its out and the hype train will go full steam ahead anyway, GT5P was hardly advertised and has sold close to 4 million. Europe is its biggest market and next week is GamesCon if nothing much is heard then then i expect it early 2010, but Sonys first 3 months of 2010 include White Knight Chronicles, GOW3, Heavy rain, Mag and aslo DC universe. Wouldnt think Sony would want to have that many games out as well as GT5 and all the multiplatform games out. The end of this year is looking quite quiet on the Sony front so Decemer time would be ideal. FF13 and GT5 released in Japan before end of the year would help a great deal in sales for the PS3, and a GT5 launch close to Christmas in EU and US would sell very well bundled with the slim.
 
The guy behind GT5 has said that it could be released today the only thing stopping them is their ambitions and perfectionist nature, not wanting to release it until they are 100% satisfied.

As much as I hate waiting I wish more developers were like that.
 
GT5P was not really a full game it was a demo, GT5P has not handle 100s of millions of $ pumped into it, Sony will want to hype this up bigger than Halo, it takes time for word of mouth about games to get out.

This game will be out for Xmas.

Thinking it will be released with the ps3 slim as a package
 
I can't wait for this, and Forza 3, was just playing Forza 2 last nighit, shame it had no cockpit view, would have been so mch better with it.

Shame i've only got a steering wheel for the PS3, will have to make do with the pad for Froza
 
In this weeks 1up yours they give a hint to this coming out this year, they said about a major Sony game that people might not have been expecting this year, is coming this year, then John says "what are you driving at?". Im pretty sure the "driving at" bit is just a turn of phrase, more like a hint.
With GTPSP and GT5 being cross compatable ie cars you unlock on one will unlock in the other , it would make sense if the release was quite close not half a year or so apart.

they could have been hinting towards a new tiger woods game though... :p
