hang over.

I was told by an old but wise man who taught me where I did my apprenticeship....

That a pint or two of water c/w two cod liver oil tablets before sleep (whilst p****ed) worked wonders, I tried it a few times and only woke up with a sore head in the morning!

I don't drink anymore though (I'm 21) , can't stand the stuff.

You sound like a barrel of laughs on a night out.
Hate people who say crap like that, not all us us need to alter our state of mind to have fun, some of us can socialise and have a "laugh" without the need to change our brain chemistry.

I find that plenty of water before I go to bed, then more in the morning, plus a couple of paracetamol and a banana for breakfast. Then a hot meaty meal when my stomach feels a little less volatile. If your gut is really bad you might want to throw up, get it out of your system. You'll feel better for it.

Drink more often, you'll stop getting hangovers after a bit of practice ;)
If you don't fancy that, ibuprofen and orange juice work wonders for me.

howiepoos - you had a bad experience mate?

Lets just say that I grew up with an alcohol next door neighbour who beat her kids when drunk and was very abusive to my parents, who were trying to help her. Her son, who used to be my best friend, now living in London somewhere, last time I saw him, he was off his head and a total mess due to drink.

I lived with an alcoholic for a few years before we split up and she was very nasty when drunk. I live on a main road a little way from a town centre and hear loads of fights, vandalism, abuse, shouting/swearing very often.

I also have an 18 year old daughter who has discovered the thrills of getting drunk and pubs/clubs and it's a total worry all the time.

I really wonder why this particular drug is legal while other more benign drugs are not.
