3D Films, If you WEAR glasses.

Personally, I've never been able to watch any film that requires you to wear 3D glasses over my normal everyday glasses. They just won't fit and feel very uncomfortable.

This is why I'm severely ****ed off about not being able to see 'Avatar' as it should be viewed when it's released.

why are you blind as a bat. what is your prescription?

i had to get glasses recently and thankful mine is only 0.25 correction needed

Assuming its the new dark 3D glasses you should be fine, they seem big enough and sturdy enough to fit over most specs, unlike those crappy old cardboard things.

@ Sandman: You don't need glasses then, really. Not for -/+0.25. I certainly wouldn't worry about it with such a tiny correction needed.

Can't you just wear some daily contacts? I went to see a 3d film with glasses on and it sucked.

Maybe start thinking about contact lenses? start with dailies for such occasions. I used to have dailies for nights out, swimming (with goggles to stop them from coming out when I open my eyes under water!)etc. Now I wear them all the time.

EDIT - Beaten

Aren't 3d glasses just plastic shades with a special type of coloured plastic instead of lenses? Would it be possible to make your own? If so, maybe you could cover the prescription lenses with the plastic.

I'm almost certain this idea is ridiculous for some reason. I know nothing about the subject; only what I remember from going to the IMAX.

id look like the biggest geek ever.

Real3D glasses look like normal sunglasses, big ugly bulky ones, but the tints don't look like a colour other than light sunglasses tint. But they work well and fit over normal glasses quite well. :)

Haha 1st person I've heard of who needs a weaker prescription than me :p I'm -0.75 in each eye and often don't bother with glasses, or contacts. Contacts would be a good option too with the 3D glasses.

Doubt it'll work. I'm not certain as I've not been to see a 3D film yet but I think the glasses work by having polarised lenses, and the projectors will project through a polarised lens too, at 90 degrees to each other. Also if you got it the wrong way round it'd not work either :p

Neither I, not any of my four friends who also where glasses, had any trouble with them when we went.

You'll be fine.

look at the new trailer for Avatar. Hope that comes in 3d for my area on December the 18th.

All the glasses do is block out each eye to match the frequency of the film. So all you have to do is open and close one eye at a time really quickly if you want to try it without the glasses.
