Hi,

When I got the car the alloys had the paint coming off them so it was always a let down on the car. So I finally got round to getting them powder coated, so I went for black. I know it won't be to everyones taste but I thought I'd share a pic.

Aye to be fair I need to get some tyre blackener on there, the car is filthy too, really need to give it all a good clean.

Sorry - have to agree with fox

Why's the towing eye on and red?

It is a none standard towing eye, infact as standard the MX5 doesn't have any towing eyes. And it is red cause I wanted it red. :p

Reality Bites,
I did think about anthracite but in the end I wasn't too keen on it.

Black alloys generally looks a bit *****, there are few situations where they look good, they do look awesome when done right though.

Yours are leaning more in the ***** direction for me :p

I like it - black wheels win ;)

They just look wrong because they're glossy. Clean the car and let the wheels get a coating of brake dust and they'll suit it well.

gloss black doesnt really go with blue.

anthracite is prob the best colour to match blue.

Gloss black looks best on red or white cars

That will look a lot better with some back to black or whatever on the tyres.

Aye with some dust on there it will fit it with the tyres better, will have to try and give the car a good clean sometime soon. Main thing is I am happy with it. :) Just need to get some new OZ centre caps fitted.

Definately needs some tyre shine to pull it off. Getting rid of the monster number plate plinth is a cheap mod which makes a big difference imo.

I like black wheels. So much so I have a set on my car, but for whatever reason I can't get along with them on a blue 5. I'll have to side with the majority i'm afraid. It's a no from me.
