Let the Right One in. Film Not to be Missed (opens Friday)

Looks pretty inetresting, has amazing reviews. Pretty much 5 stars from everyone that's seen it include most tabloids, Empire Mag, Wossy and a few more reliable sources.

I'm all for subtitled indie films. Some of the greatest films to date have been indie insta-classics within the last couple of years. Little Miss Sunshine was a surprise favourite of mine, JCVD i enjoyed immensley.

Only trouble i'm having with LTROI is the small selection of cinemas showing it. Seems im going to have to travel to Ipswich or Camden if i want to see it. Which i do. £50 day out for a movie. Oh well! ;)

I started a new thread by mistake. Learn2search i guess.

Looking forward to this!

OVERRATED TRIPE, THE LOT OF IT.

.....only joking. A stunning piece of cinema - haunting visuals, a gripping story, tight direction and more all come together to make a modern classic. From the relationship between the girl and the old man, to the somber/beautiful (depending on how you personally look at it) realisation of Oskar's role at the end of the film it's a fantastic piece of work.

I too laughed at the cat scene as the effects were way too noticable for me - in fact the whole subplot involved there was probably the weakest part of the film in my opinion but that's barely worth even mentioning.

If you like your horror dark, serious, and rooted in characterisation over money-shots, I'd also recommend "Sauna" - one of the only other horror flicks to truly blow me away so far this year.

This film was great. Low budget but interesting and original cinema. However, do not watch the dubbed version like i did. Terrible dubbing

Saw this in The Light in Leeds a few weeks ago now.

Absolutely fantastic film. Couldn't really rate it highly enough, personally.

There are interviews with the director out there that explain quite a bit of the random parts ... though they are seriously massive spoilers, so I won't post them here unless people are particularly interested and can't be bothered to go searching themselves :)

Hold on. A friend and I were meant to go see this 2 weeks ago but all the shows disappeared locally. I thought the release had been delayed. Is it out then?

I saw it twice in two days, the first time being 13 days ago today. Saw it with the gf and then a friend wanted to see it the next day too. I was slightly bemused as to why there wasn't a thread on it already when I got back from the cinema, actually

I thought it was OK, but lacked the emotional depth I was expecting. It was quite heartfelt but just didn't quite grip me as much as I thought it would. The ending was also needlessly violent.

I won't post it here unless you want me to, but google for the director's possible explanation of the ending - it's quite open-ended in the book, apparently.

Didn't see this thread at the time but did watch the film when it was on at my local independent cinema at the time, very good although 98% from Rotten Tomatoes is a bit over the score, it was enjoyable but it's not nearly perfect as that would seem to suggest.

This is on Virgin Movies on Demand at the moment so I think I might give it a watch, saw the trailer a while back on the tube and it looked decent.
