Indeed, but this is about making it more difficult for people to grab the nearest thing to attack someone.
Knives require intent to carry, glasses don't.
Thinking about it. When football matches got violent etc they didnt try to change anyhting about the experiance they banned the people from the grounds. Dont see why this cant be the case for pubs as well?

Real men drink from the bottle.
That and I don't really like the idea of how rarely some bars clean their taps.
Thats besides the point, its the actual act of plunging either the knife or glass into someone.
As another point, they knife does not need to be carried. It could be picked up on the premises.
Why would it be thrown away? The pus/clubs etc can recycling them.
Then it will be your loss.![]()
Not only mine if the pubs don't get enough business!![]()
Don't be melodramatic, people will still go to pubs and drink beer like they have done for centuries.
Just saw this on the BBC news website and immediately remembered this thread.

I'll be watching this closely. I still have nothing against the change and am very much for it. A good point made about people being used to glass and disliking a change is the fact that we used to drink from pewter flagons and tankards. Things change. T'is the way the world works.
Bring back the Goblet.
