CMD box to open maximised?

I often use the CMD command box in Windows. When I open it, it opens (understandably) at a size of approx. 25 lines by 80 chars. I immediately hit the maximum to increase the number of lines.

Is there any way I can set this up to open maximised?

TVM

Open the CMD window, click the icon in the Top Left corner and select properties/Options/Fullscreen

Click close and select "save properties..."

Make sure you boost the default buffer size too if you regularly run verbose commands through it (rightclick window header and select 'defaults')

Open the CMD window, click the icon in the Top Left corner and select properties/Options/Fullscreen

Click close and select "save properties..."
Thanks for that :)

However . . . sadly, it doesn't achieve the same result as clicking the maximise icon at the top right which just extends the CMD window from top to bottom of the screen without adjusting the width, thereby giving you extra lines. Your proposal simply retains the same 25 lines x 80 chars but occupying the entire screen :(

If you go to the option I suggested above, you can change the number of lines under the "Layout" tab.

You can check how many lines you need for the so-called 'fullscreen' effect you describe under the "Properties" menu for the window heading, on my PC it's 80.

Magic, many thanks, I eventually found that :)

On the Dell 30" screen I am currently working at the number of lines is 126

Does anyone know where these "Fullscreen" and "Number of lines" values are stored?

I can't find a file such as CMD.INI and haven't been able to find them in the Registry which is where I expect they are stored.
