New NFL Season - old(ish) NFL quote!

Really haven't kept up to date this off season at all.

Would have suggested the Vikings could go far but last I heard, they had signed Favre which is a big mistake IMO.

Also the Eagles signing Vick is very interesting but not something I can work out why. McNabb is decent enough and a better passer than Vick

The off season is usually pretty unreliable though when it comes to regular season form. The Jets normally have a good pre-season, but it usually deserts them when it really matters!!

Although, they're 0-2 so far - so perhaps things will be better in the regular season! :)

By off season I meant the comings and goings of players and the draft picks ;)
Usually I at least pay attention to those things and what the 'experts' are saying but this year I haven't looked at anything unless it happens to be displayed on SkySports homepage or something.

Well, for me the big news is that Mark Sanchez will be the Jets starting QB! ;)

Don't know about the whole Vick situation - he's a great QB, but after what he did, I wish no one had picked him up.

Business is business I guess though - no room for ethics!!

Well it just seems a bizzare choice for the Eagles.
I can't see Vick getting a game there with McNabb playing quite well.

Vick was never the greatest passer and relied on his elusiveness and running, does he even still have those? I hear he is playing in Pre-Season games which might be worth watching.

NY Giants fan here...hoping that they go back to the Super Bowl again...havent really kept up to date with the latest news other than Vick being picked up by Philly...they must desperate to get back to the Super Bowl and actually win it.

But McNabb will be the starter surely.

The NFL commissioner has said that Vick can't play in any regular season game until he has been reinstated in the league and the decision will be made before Week 6. Can't see them swapping QBs after the first 5 or 6 games  unless McNabb has a nightmare or gets injured but even then it would pretty much put them out of the playoffs especially in that tough division.

My team is the Redskins. Our offensive line will once again be the weak link and offer Campbell little protection and Portis will once again have to run hard to move the ball and get banged up again by the time the season reaches the business end.

The defence will be awesome though with the signings of Haynesworth and Orakpo. I expect the Redskins will be involved in a lot of low scoring games with our defence keeping teams out but our offence struggling to move the ball.

Panthers fan here. I expect the NFC South to be tough as usual and pretty much anyone in it could win that div. Kemoeatu being out for the season already is a huge blow and the depth of the defence is pretty poor. Hoping for not too many injuries this season. They are easily good enough for another run into playoffs but Carolina never have two good seasons in a row!

McNabb will always be the starter at philly. Vick will be used in odd occasions like 'wildcat' plays etc, which he will be pretty good at if he can still move like he used to.

Bears fan this way!

We had a poor year last year, our defence wasn't good enough to carry our offence (as it did in 06 and previous years).
However we seem to have sorted that out and finally have a franchised quarterback in Cutler so things are looking up. Ill be disappointed if we dont make the playoffs and am hoping for superbowl glory!

Are Five showing it again this year? Or have they dumped it along with the baseball?

Five are showing Sunday night football again. I don't think the rest of the rights have actually been agreed yet, but imagine they'll go to Sky again.

Bears fan here and like pull2808 got high hopes for the season, can't wait for it to begin at last! :)

Anyone here going to the Wembley game?

I've gone the last couple of years & will again this year - just hope the Jets come over one year! Great atmosphere at the games.

Mind you - I went to Sun Devil stadium in Tempe, AZ about 15 years ago to watch the University of Arizona play Arizona State University. There was a crowd of over 80,000 there to watch a college game - crazy! That's where the real rivalries are.

Well Vick played last night for the Eagles on 6 plays

Passing: 4/4 for 19 yards
Rushing: 1 for 1 yard

Patriots fan here.

Looking forward to the new season and hoping Brady will keep in one piece this year!

As a big fan of Favre I have to admit that he just might be taking it one season too far this year. He tailed off badly towards the end of last season and I can't see it getting much better for him. He should have stayed retired the first time.

Saints fan here. I can see them doing very well with their new and improved D. Not to mention they have a new DC in GW. I can see us going deep into the playoffs :).
