Old School pc games

Laods and loads, but one will always stand out for me, and that's DID's Inferno. Loved that game, can't get it to run anymore though, not even in DOSBox.

other carmageddon fans i see :D, i didnt think others would have played that, the hours i played on that, i must have been only about 7 or 8 years old haha

I dread to think how many hours upon hours of my life I spent playing that game! I would come home from school and just play it all afternoon/evening!

No other game since has sucked so much of my time!

carmagedon was great, would be cool if they did a new one using the phsyics engines available today

Nah, Carmageddon 2 was rubbish. The original was so good because actual images of people were used. Slamming into beach babes, old women, cows, baseball fans etc was awesome.

I remember the demo where you start and hardbrake turn over the crossroad and wipe out a load of people, seeing them all do mad spins in the air with eyes and stuff flying out. It didnt exactly look that real but it was damn fun!

"I was in the war!"

Have you tried DOS Box mate?

Why dont developers start creating games like they were 10-15 years ago but just make them work on new hardware?
I would much rather pay £20 for a XP/Vista working version of Blood/Carmageddon/Kingpin with more levels and weapons than something like Farcry 2 or SOF3 that is just good graphics but turd gameplay

Dont think anyone has said GTA 1. All the others are rubbish. GTA original was by far the best

mine are BLITZ for the VIC20 - reason: First game ever played on a home PC

and Daily Thomsons Decathlon for the C64 - Frist coin OP game that I no longer needed 10p's for. This and Track & Field and double dragon killed off the coin OP market.

Grannys garden.

Man, I remember playing that at school on their 'high tec' BBC Micros.

As for more old skool games I still love:-

Command and Conquer - Original and Best.
Duke3D - Great fun on LANs.
Transport Tycoon Delux - Simple, yet deep.

Screamer was completely epic!!
StarCraft
Carmageddon 1&2
Blood
Quake2
Grand Theft Auto 1
System Shock
Pinball Dreams / Fantasies
Geoff Crammonds F1 Grand Prix 1 - still have the big box 3.5in disk version lol
