Spa-Francorchamps - BELGIUM Grand Prix 2009 - Race 12/17

He's not great but lets not be silly....

Indeed - let's not forget Badoer (whilst not having raced for 10 years) is still a fantastically good driver. He'd have to be, to be the fully paid up, official Ferrari F1 test driver for so long. He's paid his racing dues, and made a darn decent living from being a racing driver.

Yet, stuck in a modern F1 car, he's miles and miles off the pace.

I think that shows just how good you have to be to be on the pace in a modern F1 car. If anything, Badoer has highlighted just how wrong the "it's too easy for the drivers these days, any monkey could drive one" crowd are.

Thats actually played into Vettel's hands a little bit (ie it was pretty much a wasted session all around) - so by choosing to possibly sit out majority of one practice hasnt affected him / his car set up wise at all

100% Agree.

I'd love to go to Abu Dhabi, hmmm tempting!

1hr 30 to next practice :p

watched the highlights before practice, last years cars are so ugly :p

I thought so too. Though, I watched the extended highlights of the 1998 race aswell and thought the cars back then looked quite amazing! (And what a race)
So many close races over the years at Spa..

Yeh agreed, the 97/98 cars were probably my favourites. The Williams in 1997 looked fantastic :)

Looking back at 2008 seeing the front of the Mclaren with those horns and other bits sticking out - at the time I didn't mind it - but it looks terrible now!
This years cars are much nicer, just need to bring back the lower, wider rear wings and they will look lovely!

Practice part two is on now and it looks sunny and dry :)

EDIT= Red flag and vettal with a engine problem at the pit exit
