Indeed - let's not forget Badoer (whilst not having raced for 10 years) is still a fantastically good driver. He'd have to be, to be the fully paid up, official Ferrari F1 test driver for so long. He's paid his racing dues, and made a darn decent living from being a racing driver.
Yet, stuck in a modern F1 car, he's miles and miles off the pace.
I think that shows just how good you have to be to be on the pace in a modern F1 car. If anything, Badoer has highlighted just how wrong the "it's too easy for the drivers these days, any monkey could drive one" crowd are.

I thought so too. Though, I watched the extended highlights of the 1998 race aswell and thought the cars back then looked quite amazing!
