Mole Removal

lol

holy moley moley moley moley moley moleyyyyyyyy

I had one removed from my shoulder when i was younger, they numbed the area, he scalpeled it out, and sent it away.
Quarterising it was funny, smelt like burnt meat (durr...)
They thought i might be a bit odd, as i had the nurse hold a mirror so i could watch :D

unique mate, you're not odd :o

My doctor has made me an appointment at the local Hospital for an initial consultation for the removal of my mole which is on my face.

I asked my doctor when requesting the removal of my mole whether it would leave a scar. His reply was "well, it will look a lot better than it does now". He smiled but I did'nt.

We obviously it is going to leave a scar. I am having two removed on my lower chin which will leave two lines as scars.... cool :D

Just got back from Surgery. Two moles removed and 2 fresh scars on my face. Only felt the injection, which was uncomfortable but not terrible. After that, it felt like he was tugging and poking. Then I smelt flesh and could hear a blow torch noise. After that, all done in 20 minutes!!!!

It looks pretty cool, but I can't smile or eat or laugh or talk very well. It is starting to throb and will be numb for a while. Wednesday I am having the stitches taken out which will be painful (I expect!?)

Anyways, all behind me now.... just several weeks with healing scars on my face.

I can post a before and after picture for anyone interested in having this done, I do recommend it, though the incision was slightly larger than I expected, but will heal pretty quickly.

Nuke from orbit tbh, or alternatively I know somone who got it done from the NHS and they haven't had anything bad to say about them.

^ really? you really are putting my mind at rest, thank you :)

As I said I was very young so I won't be held accountable if it does hurt :p

I think normal skin grows round the stitches and wound, so when they are pulled out they are just breaking through one little top layer of skin. I'm sure it will be fine :)

Yeah would be cool if you could post some before and after its healed pics.. The one I want removed is in the shaving area as well.. Can hardy see it but keep catching it when shaving!

Please be aware if you're doing it for cosmetic reasons, they leave a much bigger scar than the mole itself.

I had a mole this big --- removed, I now have a scar on my arm -------------- that big.

I am prepared to pay, money is no object. My father had a mole removed by his upper lip last year and there is no scarring.

Vitamin E cream post removal will assist with healing and will reduce the eventual appearance of scar tissue.

It does depend on how it is removed, some 'moles' tend to have areas which plunge slightly more deeply (think roots) this leads to scaring. If they are conerned they will cut it off, biopsy, often a triangular cut, to ensure all is removed.

Either way, Vitamin E cream after.

Thank you for this excellent advice, I will follow it.
