Resident Evil 5 - 3D Benchmark

It's an ATI issue.

I'm on Windows 7 64bit retail now and get a slightly higher fps than on Vista64 (high 70s) average in the variable test and that's with fsaa at 1920x1200.

Catalyst 9.8 driver sorted the ATi problems out nicely, runs amazingly well now. Nice one ATi. Really chuffed with this result when comparing directly to some NVIDIA machines ;)

This crashes with my x1900xt a few seconds into each benchmark. Tried it with current and previous catalyst driver but the same crash result. My GFX not cutting it anymore I take it?

Funny enough your graphics card is around about the same generation the 360's graphics is based upon.

Have you tried the benchmark with low/medium graphics settings?

Even then, what are your other hardware specs?

I tried it on all low settings with AA off and still get the error message.

"D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR : present_result"

I does that at exactly the same point on the first benchmark, the sound keeps playing for a bit though.

The rest of the spec is Q6600 at stock, ASUS P5e VM-HDMI (matx), 4GB RAM, Win xp64

Good graphics, shame about the view in the game mode, made me feel sick like in deadspace. Was that Mugabe on the speaker?

Nothing you can really do about it since that is how the game is supposed to be. Afterall, it was the previous Resident Evil 4 that popularised the over-the-shoulder view.

Even then, I find that the smooth 60FPS+ makes me feel motion sickness on this, yet the 30FPS which the Console versions use, I feel fine.

well i am getting a B with 1440x900 all high and 2x AA on my machine, thats is still circa 50+ fps in the variable gaming test, so that aint bad i guess!
