Also, watch a the film Fatherland, set in an alternate vision of 1964 where Germany has conquered Europe but is attempting to form an alliance with the US in order to defeat the Soviet Union which it is still fighting with. It's a great film, which revolves around the attempts of an American journalist who attempts to expose the Nazi atrocities of WW2 before Germany can gain the help of America in destroying the Soviets and conquering all of Europe.
