I need to get my mum online.
So she only needs to be able to do email and some browsing - obviously no gaming or massive downloads.

I'm trying to find the cheapest option with regards ADSL for her.
She has no LLU options on her exchange - so it's "standard ADSL".
So far the cheapest option I've found is from:

Plusnet
10GB Monthly allowance.
£5.99 for the first 3 months.
£11.99 per month after that.

My mum has Sky television, however is not on a Sky LLU exchange.
She doesn't have an Orange mobile contract at £35 per month.

Is this the cheapest I can get ADSL for?

talk talk will gnerally be the cheapest if you go for a bundle of phone and broadband

are you sure sky cant connect her to boradband over bt's service, i thouhgt they could

looking around at plusnet are cheapest for me, I can get it at a constant £5.99 so check into that. Only downside is the 12 month contract which is putting me off :(

Unfortunately because my mum is on a "Market 1" exchange, she has to pay the £11.99 a month after the initial 3.

12 month contract isn't a major issue for her - once she is on she'll want to stay on.
I was just hoping I might be able to squeeze ADSL for £10 per month but it doesn't look like anyone is offering that just yet.

Sky can connect her - however it will be over BT Wholesale lines and so she'd be looking at £17.99 a month.
Sure you get plenty of allowance for that, but she just doesn't need it.

I'll have a quick look at Talk Talk - I know many wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, but for her needs it's honestly price over most things.

If shes with sky and has sky line rental then cant she just get BB with them? 20mb Sky BB is £10 a month if you take out the line rental with them. Im sure they do 10mb and maybe slower for cheaper

The Sky broadband prices are excellent - so long as you're on a Sky LLU Exchange :)
Alas she isn't :(

Sorry, dont know what LLU exchange is.

Maybe on of those mobile broadband sticks would be worth it if she only does light browsing and email?

Oooo - I hadn't thought of those.
Her exchange might not be great, but me and the wife (Vodafone & Orange) always get full 3G signal from her house.

I'll check into that.
