Eduardo banned for 2 matches

So from now on all dives must get a 2 match ban right?

Wishful thinking:p...its funny that Eduardo gets a 2 match ban but the other guy in the other game...cant remember his name dove and no one made a deal of it...****ing ridiculous tbh and i dont blame Wenger for raging.

Oh well next time perhaps Eduardo wont have to resort to diving...silly boy.

I don't understand why football doesn't follow the example of rugby union and review matches if there is a complaint and give the appropriate penalty after the match if the referee missed it.

It is not an irregular occurence for a player to play an entire match having punched someone away from play which was missed by the officials and then get a several match ban handed out afterwards.

Football should apply this to all diving offenses.

(And spare me the comments about blood subs, all the players I know think it's ok to gamble and cheat on the pitch by breaking the laws and risk the referee's wrath but none of them thinks it's acceptable to cheat off the pitch)

Only if not caught and only if 1. Getting a penalty. 2. Getting freekick that leads to a goal or 3. Gets another player sent off.

Otherwise it wont be touched and if you are caught you only get a yellow. Hardly fair is it?

Seems pretty good to me. At least they seem to have some sort of structure in place to deal with simulation now. They are obviously just wanting to investigate the ones which fundamentally change the outcome of the game. Seems fair enough to me.

Hopefully we can see Uefa taking action more regularly.

Hahahahahahahahaha!

Seriously, hopefully there will be consistency with regards to diving for penalties and freekicks around the penalty area.

Arsene? Is that you?

Hehe no, but I am an Arsenal fan :p

It was a shocking dive and tbh its not so much the ban that annoys me more that 99% of other dives wont get anything more than a yellow card. It was a terrible dive and fair play he got punished, I just hope theres some consistency from now on

But what happens if you dive get the other player booked then he gets a second yellow later on and is sent off? Nothing.

I think its poor if you get caught by ref you get a yellow if he misses it you get hammered. It may influence the game but its seems a tad harsh. If you dive the punishment regardless of being caught or not should be the same either 2 match ban or a yellow card. Its not gonna stop the true divers they will still take the gamble. It also wont stop the divers who lose possession and go down as if its missed by the ref there is no case to answer but its still a dive and cheating to gain an advantage.

Fair's fair if all decisions get treated the same way.

A game later Rooney started to go down before any contact by Almunia. The ref didn't pick anything up etc., but will Rooney be punished? You can understand Wenger's bitterness that it's so inconsistantly done, and that even if Eduardo was supposed to be an example, nothing's changed.

Surely, if anything Eduardo (and others) should be getting retrospective yellows, aka what would be given should a bit of simulation is detected by the ref.

If UEFA were really interested in bringing this in and being consistent with it all. It would have been done ages ago. Yes, Eduardo shouldn't have done it but I think he's just fallen foul of some whining Celtic supporter who happens to be part of the SFA.

Ashley Young you mean? Dived twice and got two penalties.

Isnt he injured anyway so the games he will be banned from won't matter as he won't be able to play?
