Anyone else had issues with their postal service recently?

I know there have been strikes in London recently but I am in Nottingham and have not had mail since last week and I know of at least 2 items which I should have received as well as the usual bills etc at this time of month.

Also, when they do come, it is at about 11am or 1pm which is silly.

Their management need a good kicking/selling off, whichever improves the service.

I understand it was the management who stopped the posties going out early in the morning, yes, smart decision, really has improved the service you bunch of clowns.

My postman is a ninja. I set up CCTV to see what time he comes, and he didn't come at all, yet the post was there! He also never makes a noise.

We havn't had anything since thursday last week... We live in Reading and they never turn up till after 1pm???

Surely it doesnt take from 8am to gone past 1pm to do their round.

I remember a few years ago that anything past 11am was considered late, now they just turn up whenever they like.

i love how people act like its against human rights not to have a perfect postal system

ROFL

The thing is, a few years ago, it was not too bad. It was fine till someone, somewhere made a decision to degrade the service.

Also, to a lot of people, the postal system is VERY important to them and integral to their lives and it is not acceptable that something so important is so inconsistent.

Ours turns up at 3pm which is abit rubbish. He also rings the doorbell once and leaves about 20 seconds later if you dont run down the stairs so fast you get gforce from it

you mean back when the government would just plough cash into them and they where making constant losses ?

theyre a private run company now. admittedly making a lot now! but they can do what they want really because theyve got no competition

I think it's fair criticism when a paid for service is so inconsistant and shoddy.

Well, in my experience anyway (Liverpool & Kent), and from others clearly when you see the number of annoyed responses anytime a thread like this is created.

11am silly for the post?

It's around 2-3PM here.

I said 11am but that would be early, I think I gave them too much credit. It is now 13.30 and still no mail.

The annoying thing is, I have things which were sent FIRST CLASS last week which have still not been received as well as the normal junk mail.

Im not impressed with my local lot. I was waiting for a next day delivery (small item easily fits thru letter box). i was in my attached garage with the side door and gate open so i could catch him but later found he left a note waying it didnt fit thru the letter box so i had to wait for the next day to go and pick it up.

He must have seen me in the garage and just walked past.

I suppose its not his fault but the target time he has to finish by.

Ours turns up at 11:00 – 11:30, it was around 10ish before they got rid of some of the postmen. He does ring when there is a small package and waits. The small parcel van comes around 12ish. No complaints from here but the service a couple of miles from here is awful.

A lot of it is to do with management and cutting staff. Most places have less staff but have larger walks meaning most walks getting an extra 2miles. Meaning the posties have to sort out even more mail before leaving without an extra time, so some don't leave the branch until 9am and finish at about 2-3. Which is right considering before they used to get get going around 6-7am and finish 12-1am. Just extra work and a very badly managed business.
