Right I have a genuine quesion thats been on my mind for ages

Other week my GF payed at pump with her card, She put her pin in 1st then it said approved please remove card and fuel

but it said max £60 and she only had like 20 quid in her bank and shes not allowed an overdraft

what would have happend?

Talking of pay at pump, I got caught out at a Shell last week as the tank was empty but it only let me put £60 in so I couldn't fill up

how strange that there's a maximum..

what about pump-only stations, which are unmanned. surely they can't have a maximum?

i noticed in belgium that at night on the motorway petrol stations, you have to pay at pump otherwise they won't start the machine.
diesel isn't expensive enough for me to get above €65 anyway, but i can't imagine there being a maximum in that case. it'd be rather annoying
