Go away
Indeed I think you should, you're just making yourself out to be a complete tool.

Go away
And its their petrol station, their choice - if they dont want to sell you fuel because your doors open and you're chatting to passengers rather than paying attention to what you're doing, then they're more than entitled to refuse you service

Sound advice, sadly too often ignored and it is often mighty difficult actually to get to speak to a "Manager"; if you are lucky enough to do so, they are usually far too junior actually to achieve anything...
Next time it happens, ask to speak to the manager and give it to them as it's likely not the assistant being a jobsworth, it's the company forcing it on them via their utterly stupid operating procedures.
You have clearly led a very sheltered life -or- are on the dole?1. Its that 'jobsworths' choice to stay in that employment.
...
3. I would never work somewhere where I am responsible for far more than I can clearly manage - especially if thefts against the company will be levelled at me personally when it is clear that you can do little to stop a 2tonne vehicle.
You have clearly led a very sheltered life -or- are on the dole?
No, I've just had enough of presumed guilt.
I'm not wearing a helmet, I'm not talking about a bank either.
"Whilst I'm sure you aren't a criminal I don't think you should be offended that people treat you like so" And what ******* planet do you come from?
Go away
They are taking a precaution, i suggest you stop being so paranoid if it really annoys you so much.
Let me guess it's your life and you should be allowed to smoke on a petrol station forecourt aswell if you want to ?
I'm sure you have.I've had a hellish life in parts ...
So you haven't actually had a job for seven year thenI ... have been a civil servant for nearly 7 years.
No, I don't want to blow other people up or myself. Don't try and cloud this..
How am I paranoid? It annoys me because of the presumption of guilt on all customers. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? A door open or not, light on or not ARE NOT GOING TO PREVENT THE THEFT OF FUEL.
I'm sure you have.
So you haven't actually had a job for seven year then![]()
I speed and think Im not gonna cause a crash, I still accept that it's 'wrong', it's just I haven't been caught yet.
If I do get caught speeding, I won't moan at the policeman and claim that I have sped for years without being caught, just like you claim to have the door open in the past without being told, yet when someone does tell you, you feel like they are in the wrong.
What the **** are you talking about?
Your attitude, because someone has told you that you shouldn't have the door open you assume they are talking rubbish.
It's up to the attendant if they activate the pump, maybe he just thought you were acting suspiciously or looked dodgy.
I think Asda is £60 for both. They have a sign advising Solo card users to fill to a MINIMUM of £20 to avoid funds being unavailable on their card until the pre-authorisation clears, or something like that.Example, Asda will let you have £60 of fuel with a credit card or upto £20 with a debit card.

I never said they were talking rubbish? My attitude has nothing to do with it. I said they were assuming guilt, which they are. Or the pontential for it.
You clearly don't read anything you respond to do you Simon? I've never once had any issues fueling my cars, it was the OP [TW]Fox who had the trouble.
I am merely commenting as this is a discussion forum.. incase you didn't notice that either.
What a load of tripe
I'm sure you're a fine upstanding member of society, who has never done a single thing wrong in your life - but the person the other side of the glass doesnt know that.
Should you be allowed to walk into a bank, waiving a gun around, wearing a balaclava and shouting random threats because thats what you like to do for fun?
Course you shouldnt - its the same principal taken to an extreme, if the cashier feels you pose a risk of theft because you've left your door open, they dont have to give you the fuel. Easy.

Exactly my point, however he couldn't seem to understand my analogy of banks and jewellers.
