So SL saves space by not installed all languages and printer drivers, which I unticked when I installed Leopard as I knew they were pointless. Then changes base2 -> base10, I'm sure I'll see a huge difference :p

^Also don't forget the PowerPC binaries, there must have been a lot.

Select file once and press enter.
Hmm, that doesn't work :( Instead I get a dong error tone...

Edit: Ok folders/files created in SL can be renamed ok. This file in particular, which is a standard txt file that was created on my PC and moved to this macbook can't be renamed, even with full permissions. Weird.

guys whats the best way of doing a clean install on my imac, am just doing a time machine backup now to save most of my data, but does TM miss anything or does it get all the user data (not anything to do with the OS i assume ) after that how do i do the clean install

main fixes from 10.6.1 which was released to developers yesterday

- compatibility with some Sierra Wireless 3G modems
- an issue that might cause DVD playback to stop unexpectedly
- some printer compatibility drivers not appearing properly in the add printer browser
- an issue that might make it difficult to remove an item from the Dock
- instances where automatic account setup in Mail might not work
- an issue where pressing cmd-opt-t in Mail brings up the special characters menu instead of moving a message
- Motion 4 becoming unresponsive

Still not arrived. Well annoyed! Three days now I've wasted for this thing to come.

Grrrrrrr

Edit: more annoying is i was by an apple store in Bristol two hours ago!

Tell me about it. I'm waiting for my up-to-date copy which was meant to be delivered by the 3rd of September at the latest :(

Well I'm slightly happier its just not me :p

I was going to install it on the Macbook Pro first but im going to set the Mac Pro up (im rearranging the home folder to somewhere else) and back it all up ready for me to wack the disk in whenever it decides to turn up.

Phoned apple and they said "Postage is 5 to 10 days, not up to 3". I then asked why the email said different and that I would have bought a copy in a store had I known this, no answer to that one. :(

Came home early especially.

Royal Mail is a shambles really.

Yours been dispatched btw?

If you're that impatient why didn't you buy it in the shop and then return the other copy to the shop when it arrived in the post.

I would have done by now!

I was literally 30 seconds away from a Apple Store before driving 100 miles home to find out nothing has arrived! :(

At home the nearest apple store is an hour away so 3 days postage (friday, tuesday, wends) was quite enough...
