lucid dreaming

Iv had some lucid dreams in the past, only because I used to practise it as I loved the feeling of controlling dreams:p

I have the same problem as Rroff. I have dreams where I know I'm in a dream, but I have little control of what I do, or at least the illusion of having control. It's like I'm following a plot to a story.

Really fustrating because when I wake up I feel annoyed that I couldn't do anything else.

I know, sucks. Had a dream last night that I was being chased by some guy in a fork lift truck in a yard, and I was actively planning how to escape and it felt real. But it didn't occur to me to actually do anything else, I just followed what was happening.

Been having them for a long time now, i can control my own dreams, wake up and fall back to sleep to carry it on :)

What WAS weird is this morning i dreamt i was sleeping and while in this dream i looked at my laptop and the time was 13:14. I woke up and checked my laptop, bam 13:14 :D

You'll get this a lot. This is where reality checking comes into play. You will be aware enough to do one, then when you do it will click into an LD. You will have total freedom.

Do you lot keep a dream diary? I do. I've also found a lot of my dreams in the past have started to come true.

How stable and aware are you lot that lucid dream?

I've had a few in the past but they were pretty weak compared to waking reality, better than a dream but nothing compared to being awake, how good can they get?

well i was very aware aware to the point where i was saying to myself "i better remember all this " :D its like the matrix :P

I used to do it, and it took a while to be able to do it "often". I stopped trying to do it though as it always makes me tired through the day. The first few times I did it I used to get too excited at the prospect of being in control and ended up waking myself up after about 30 seconds.

I've done it lots, mostly flying and changing the course of a scary dream. If I don't like the dream I'm often aware and fly away or wake myself up.

They can be as real as you sitting there reading this reply.

I've been in LD's where im standing there feeling the breeze on my face, feeling the heat on my neck and laughing to myself at how real they are.

It really is like jumping into the matrix and you are Neo. You can controll the whole universe. Its just a matter of teaching yourself better controll.

If you get in an LD, rub your hands together and shout out loud. Look at the palms of your hands as well. You will start to feel more locked into the dream.

"There is no spoon....."

I tried seratonin 5htp when i was on a downer and this made me have epic movie lenth vivid dreams but it also messed with my melon too much

I can't do it. :| I think I've only had one lucid dream in my life and that was when I was tiny.

Then again my dreams are so ****ed up I'm not sure I'd want to be 'awake' in them. :0

I used to play around with these in the early hours. I have a knack of waking up before my alarm goes off, so I spend the intervening time slipping back into semi-consciousness and playing with my dreams. I only learned how to do it after dealing with my tinitus - I used to get that at night, before I slept, so I learned to play with that. Make it louder or quieter, much harder to change the pitch and eventually wind it down to nothing - but only in stages.

I sometimes have nightmares, which are awesome and i don't want to wake up. I realise its a dream while I'm sleeping and know that if i wake up i wont be able to continue and so i don't wake up, but then the dream usually changes.

Not sure if this is lucid dreaming or not but its strange that I'm aware I'm dreaming.

Also another one is where i have for example a nice sports car, i know i wont have it when i wake up :(.
