District 9 review...it's looking good... **SPOILERS**

How is it plot holes? when it actually says most of it in the film and implys the rest.

I don't remember hearing anything about a Queen prawn dying, and a lot of the answers in that post link into that.

Anyway I couldn't care less about it, I enjoyed the film, I'm just asking him where he got that lot from.

Not a queen. But it clearly stated all the intelligent prawns died and only the workers/drones where left. So you should be thinking along he idea of an ant or bee hive already.
They focused a couple of scenes on the command module falling of and the fact they could not find it in the 20 years.

But anyway Bloomkamp is the director.

I saw this over the weekend. I thought it was a really good. Quite enjoyable film, it was nice to see a different approach on an "Alien" film.

Wikus annoyed the hell out of me. I didn't like him at the start, I wanted to kill him myself by the end of the movie. Not sure if that was intentional or not....

Made a trip down local Odeon for this film last night, and left very impressed considering the films insanely small budget for such a project. Director has promising future in my opinion and look forward to his future work.

Anyone who get's championed by Peter Can Do No Wrong Jackson is bound to be destined for great things.

The film was undoubtedly helped by Jackson's connections in the effects industry. It's easy to see how, without the right people behind it, the film could have flopped... but luckily that wasn't the case, everythign worked well and the film was awesome.

And to the question above, I heard that 2 sequals have been planned (which upsets me. why must there be sequals :(), but i cant for the life of me find where i read it. It was a semi-credible source, i remember that much.

.

I think Neill Blomkamp would have coped just as well, but I don't doubt having Peter Jackson on board did any harm. Check out what started it all off; a short film (Sharlto Copley is in this too).

Yeah i saw that short film. The ideas behind it were always excellent, my badly worded post was more turned towards what happens when you get big awesome ideas and the wrong people behind it. Blomkamp is undoubtedly awesome and someone to keep an eye on :D

Best film this year for me, awesome, felt realistic (as much as an Alien film could!).

janesssssy - The film was set in SA for a reason you completely missed the subtext.

I was probably dozing off at this point. Might have to waste / spend another £7 and watch again. Probably wait for Blockbusters.

Sorry but it is an anoying accent. LOL could you imagine 2 hours on a Wiltshire farmers accent! you would laugh so hard you'd probably leave the cinema.

- I have a very neutral accent by the way. As have moved around abit. Kent through to devon then Wiltshire.
Also didnt mean to offend. I just personally find it irratating after an hour of "fok cat food"

I think that was one of the best things about the film actually, that for once it wasn't an alien/disaster film set in the US.

Did I miss something? Just got back from watching the film it was alright, do not understand why so many people are raving over this film.

Yeah the amount of "Fok Man!" was extreme haha, I think I may see this film again before it stops its spin at the cinema. Has been along time since my sci-fi appetite's been quenched.
