What do your tyres cost?

I used to have trouble getting decent 14"s on my saxo, I used to use either Dunlop SP MAXX 9000's or Michelin Pilot's, but I doubt either are still available :(

I don't think I've ever had a brilliant 14" tyre. The Yokohoma A-Drives I had on the Mondeo I flogged DRZ were very poor, super squidgy sidewalls and no traction. Michelin Pilots were okay, I seem to remember inheriting a Sierra with them on the front.

All the reviews I've found for the ZE912 were average to good, basically it seems most people find them par for the course when it comes to an all-weather sports tyre.

Problem with tyre reviews is that tyres are VERY subjective, I drove a Mk2 Escort on Toyo Roadpro's and loved them - a mate tried it and hated them. We put them on a Sierra and both of us agreed it drove like crap..... so I tend to just pick at random these days.

i have marangoni's on my fiesta, cant say i have any complaints there like 28 quid and they seem to be lasting a while

Had the very same tires on my 325, they were really quite impressive for what they were, even in the wet. They came on the car, but I suspect they were about 40-50 quid a corner.

Couldn't complain at all really. I never pushed the envelope per se with them but considering that E30s are considered 'twitchy' at the best of times, and I tend to push on around the twisty NSLs around me, they performed very well. Never had them step out, or do something I didn't expect. Even drove with them in the snow and slush without much issue. Wore slowly too!

Only criticism I'd have is they could have done with more traction (presumably quite hard to prevent fast wear). Did tend to light up one of the rears if making a rapid getaway....

I have a funny size that I stuggle to get any more. Can't get 185/55/13 any more so I've had to drop down to 175/50/13 which are now about £50+ per corner.

Used to be able to get really good Yokohamas in that size but not any more so I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing next time :/

Honda has 195/60/15s, set of Goodyear NCT5s or Avon ZV5s are about £70/corner

I put Eagle F1 GSD3s (195/50/15) on the MX-5 which were £47/corner fitted :)

If your on about poor choice try 195/55/13, only one make/model and its pretty expensive for a average tyre.
I looked at that size and the man at the tyre place who knows me and my cars refused to sell them to me on the grounds that they are so crap. Fair play to him for being honest but I've got to rubber the car up somewhow :(

I think I used to have a 195/55/13 in a Bridgestone which was a pretty soft tyre. I remember once it started spinning it literally melted :D

What car is that for, R5 turbo or something?

Good quality midrange isnt cutting corners?

Why waste time with stuff like Kumho's when a decent Bridgestone, Goodyear, etc is hardly any more expensive?

You pay a ton a corner for a Kumho but today I paid £110 each for 225/40/18 Eagle's so is it really worth the bother?

Sounds ideal to be honest. The Manta is a light, rear drive, tail happy car like the 325 so I'll see if I have a similar experience.

I remember when the Seicento Sporting came out, my mate had a nightmare with tyres as they were some stupid size that only Pirelli and Goodyear made I think, used to cost him a fortune.

I havent actually bought Kumhos, was just an example from the list on blackcircles as the name of what I've got on there ATM escaped me.

Currently got "Prestivo" tyres, which I was sceptical about but they were the best I could get in the time I needed the car back - although they've been surprisingly good and seem to be pretty well regarded. The bill for 4 corners was just shy of £500.

When they come to need replaced, I'll be back here asking for advice, but they've got a few k on them yet. Where did you get Eagles for 110?
