Toyo Proxes T1-R - £75 a corner
I used to have trouble getting decent 14"s on my saxo, I used to use either Dunlop SP MAXX 9000's or Michelin Pilot's, but I doubt either are still available![]()
Something decent midrange like Kumho is about a ton a corner on mine - 224/45/R18

I looked at that size and the man at the tyre place who knows me and my cars refused to sell them to me on the grounds that they are so crap. Fair play to him for being honest but I've got to rubber the car up somewhowIf your on about poor choice try 195/55/13, only one make/model and its pretty expensive for a average tyre.
Good quality midrange isnt cutting corners?
Had the very same tires on my 325, they were really quite impressive for what they were, even in the wet. They came on the car, but I suspect they were about 40-50 quid a corner.
Couldn't complain at all really. I never pushed the envelope per se with them but considering that E30s are considered 'twitchy' at the best of times, and I tend to push on around the twisty NSLs around me, they performed very well. Never had them step out, or do something I didn't expect. Even drove with them in the snow and slush without much issue. Wore slowly too!
Only criticism I'd have is they could have done with more traction (presumably quite hard to prevent fast wear). Did tend to light up one of the rears if making a rapid getaway....

You pay a ton a corner for a Kumho but today I paid £110 each for 225/40/18 Eagle's so is it really worth the bother?
