I am glad that my i7 920 is far better than these new i7 860 as look at these awful temperature went up to 79C with a vcore of 1.344v and it was crazy 3.8ghz for that temperature!

I am going to stick with my i7 920 D0. I shall wait for the new i9 core. But thanks again for post the result rich.
Zalman CNPS10X . . . . their coolers/fans are usually based on quietness more than performance, would wait till some other coolers have their go.

I'm interested in seeing results using the Corsair H50, Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme, Fenrir, Noctua etc etc.

do you want all stock runs or stock and 4GHz runs?
Whatever you can squeeze in mate! :)

I'm not saying that is the bee's knees benchmark but it does respond well to memory bandwidth, HT and processor speed and its 64-bit

It's just CPU's/DMI/MEM and is a result that can be compared!

Anymore suggestions for useful/comparable benches? :)

bulldog...
did you get out of the wrong side of bed this morning

your posts are coming across as brash and ill thought-out recently

there is a lot of technical knowledge in the UK

we might not be the best clockers in the world - but this isnt the best forum to read if you are after 100% solid gold truths on hardware

Just for reference my i7 920@4ghz HT (20x200/1600) score was 23502 for Multiple CPU Render Test.

Easyrider wanted Core i5/750 and Core i7/860 results posted in his Core i5 overclocking thread! :D

The situation has been resolved now but the poll is a hOOt anyway! ;)

I voted Big.Wayne, because he's right, as usual. Smart-ass!:D

Guess who hasn't read the whole thread....

YOU

Reason being anyone who thinks that the Lynnfield should be all in one thread rather than spilt into two seperate threads clearly is not interested in hardware or comparing each others results.

Why should I5 owners have to sift through i7 lynnfield results in the same thread when it means nothing to them. Its a waste of time and effort and it makes it difficult to collect results.

And in the thrid person just for you:D

Easy thinks that two seperate threads is the way forward

I think you will find it was me that suggested the i7/860 results not to be posted in your i5 thread! :p

the result has been the divison of the threads, I'm quite happy but feel free to bend reality how you wish! :D

Cool 4ghz on air for the 820 and not even with a True.

Is it worth waiting for the true bracket before buying an aftermarket cooler? Last time I researched them was for my q6600 and I went for the Scythe Ninja. No ideas what's good at the moment.

Could always wait for reviews of the EVGA *** board, it has the 775 mounting holes...
