Aye the fanboys they have are pretty hilarious, you should go onto youtube and watch emeek77\applesoldier videos, just some inbred hillbilly blabbering about how macs are so amazing and how he never has any issues with them, and how every single thing apple does is so amazing etc. Amusing to watch, i think the term "brainwashed tard" comes to mind.

Basically his mentality is if the pc can do something that a mac can't then that feature doesn't matter, but as soon as a mac can do it then its the second coming of christ. Thats why he "prefers" console gaming for example.

If you are really not liking Safari get Webkit to go ontop of it and use that.

Webkit has all the updates Safari eventually gets but months ahead. There is nightly builds which fix problems everyday. I have been using Webkit for a year now and it's the fastest browser you can use. Also gains new features well before Apple do for example CSS Animations.

What is it that you don't like about Safari btw? I have always tried different browsers and always gone back to Safari as it's the fastest and has the best features for me.

O yeah, have a read up on GCD for the Mac. The whole OS in Snow Leopard is GPU accelerated now.

EDIT - I'm surprised you're not a Mac user mrk! Dunno why... :p

The OP is entirely right, buying a Mac for £1400 just for WoW is a bit silly. Particularly if it only has a GTS120 and even more so when he could have bought the same for £1200.

The same would apply had he bought a PC with the same specs for the same price.

That actually made me feel ill :( Never have I heard such tripe. I broke down in tears when he pointed out that to upgrade to 2.93 chip was + $450 from one place and the MAC was only $300 without noticing that the base models of each laptop used different chips in them to start off with so 1 "upgrade" was always going to be more, and what the hell is "twice as little hardware" ? Idiot.

Thsoe are specialised apps though and they cost++ :p

On PC GPGPU apps can be had for free :D

I'm not a Mac user because I enjoy my cross connectivity, compatibility and PC gaming =]

There is always going to be certains application that need administrator privileges to operate due to the nature of them. However, there is software out there that require administrator privileges, completely unnecessary, to run and this will inevitably bring up a User Account Control dialogue. Despite a lot of misinformed opinions though, this is not down to UAC and the fact that it is trying to annoy the user but simply down to the developers writing their applications incorrectly.

Legacy applications that modify system global locations and fail will be redirected to per user locations due to the virtualization technology of UAC. As well as the virtualization aspect of UAC, the prompts also help users to run as a standard user. When a user wishes to perform an administrative task, they will simply be presented with the elevation dialogue, which will be either the consent prompt if the user is running in administrator approval mode i.e using the protected administrator account, or if the user has created a separate standard user account, they will be presented with the "Over the Shoulder" elevation prompt in which the user needs to type the administrator credentials first. The prompts are a convenience to get people to run as a standard user since it's much easier to simply accept a prompt than having to switch back and forth between accounts which a lot of people would not be willing to do.
 
I really enjoy my Macbook. Best money I have spent in a while and it is great but I don't think I could make the switch completely. Something is holding me back. I am probably resistant to change but I do like my PC gaming. ;)

Indeed, emeek is the ultimate retard to put it bluntly. He really has no clue wtf he's babbling about. And if you correct him in a comment you usually end up getting blocked so you can't laugh at his ignorance. On a video a while back he tried to say that macs work better than pc's because apples hardware is all proprietary.

Apparently he doesnt know that apple dont make intel cpu's or nvidia\ati gpu's or the ram that the system uses or the hard drives, or just about anything that goes into the hardware side of the system. His whole argument was about pc's having to use seperate companies for the parts.

His channel is probably the worst abuse of youtube bandwidth ive ever seen its so bad, because he's so totally stupid.
