Nokia N900

Cooling off period, use it! :p

Can I just cancel the contract? I haven't switched over my number yet or anything - I've signe a contract on vodafone but still using my orange payg sim card util the pac comes through. The guy in the shop said yesterday that as a buyer in a mobile shop I can only cancel if there is an irrepairable fault etc. From a quick look on the net it looks like I may be stuck with the n97....

I know the N97 has a reputation for being a bit buggy but I guess that it doesn't fall under the "not fit for use" category! :p

The n900 looks ideal though with the nice increases in processor, resolution and RAM and the change in OS. Wonder how much it's going to cost? Got the n97 on 600mins, 3000 texts, 500mb net for £35/mth on a 24mth contract.

I think this looks a bad idea,

Apple, Android Palm and now Blackberry have smartphones covered, IMO there isn't space for Nokia in this market anymore as their products just aren't good enough.

The OS doesn't look fantastic to me from the video, I actually can't believe people still buy Nokia phones.

ROFL. Nokia are the largest smartphone manufacturer what an informed, objective post.

That doesnt mean their products are any good, any idea on the sales of nokia smartphones in the UK?

Not got UK, but worldwide:

NO HOTLINKING

Your statements are pretty subjective, S60v5 (touch) is pretty poor and needs updating I agree, however they are still doing rather well (saleswise) and the hardware is decent. I also agree that other OSes/manufacturers are really decent and gaining/taking over in some cases. Nokia needs to gets its ass in gear, however the N900 (Maemo OS) seems to be a step in the right direction, hence the strong interest. Personally I think the N900 OS looks v good (However I havent played with one, so obviously not a final opinion) what dont you like about it?

That post is so full of ridiclous it almost hurts to read it. Nokie make some of the best phones in the world, and their sales dwarf that of Apple. Maemo also looks very, very good and easy to develop for as its based on the Linux kernel.

there's nothing wrong with S60 - it's far better than Windows Mobile...

Anyone know if this is coming out on 3? I'm up for upgrade now, and starting to look at some phones. Just can't decide which one yet.
